Dealing with Kessel Motors was probably one of my worst consumer experiences. I took my vehicle in after a sudden power loss. That was the beginning of a saga in which the costs to repair the car ballooned by the day, with Paul from Kessel Motors regularly identifying new issues. After more than a month of shocking communication, I fetched the car and was given a bill of more than fifty thousand rand. Needless to say, the car was in a shocking condition, with a serious oil leak. Paul asked me to return the vehicle so that they could do further work. I was very suspicious by then, especially after they quoted me more than double what Jeep charged for a replacement battery. The same app**** to tow parts they claimed to have replaced on the vehicle. It became evident that Kessel Motors was running nothing but a ****.
Subsequently, I took the vehicle to another auto repair shop, which assessed the work that was supposedly previously done by Kessel Motors, just to be informed that the itemised issues as per their bill didn't correspond with the actual work done, and wherever it did correspond, Kessel Motors used inferior or pirated parts. They also confirmed that several items Kessel Motors claimed to have done were blatantly false. Two days later, the new repair shop returned my vehicle in perfect condition, with an invoice for only R3 500,00. It is scandalous that companies like Kessel Motors are still allowed to be in business. It is evident from the other reviews of Hellopeter that they have been conducting this **** for many years, with multiple other victims. My advice is to avoid these people at all costs.
