Kessel Motors CBD, 60 Loop Street. What a rip-off! And management won't care. I had been taking my car there for years, thinking, OK there's always something 'extra' I have to pay for... but now I've finally drawn the last straw! A few services ago the whole boot smelled like petrol and no one had an answer as to why. I can only imagine they were either siphoning it out or transporting. Management just apologised. It took weeks to get rid of it. There have been a few services in between that have definitely been questionable! The latest service was it for me. I signed up for a minor service which I later costed out at R1,200 maximum at a few other places. NOPE, they charged me a whopping R4,385! The floor manager didn't have any come back when I questioned it, and the manager Sandra blew up on the phone at me. They also put on a cool 5KM on my clock! Their answer was 'We had to test-drive it'. Test drive for a minor service... and 5KM? That's quite a distance, Canal Walk and back at least. They thought I wouldn't pick it up, but I took pics of my speedometer prior to the service. Bust. Avoid this place, it's an absolute rip! They know once you drive in they've got you and will always find a way for you to leave paying around 3X more.

CAR DAMAGED DURING SERVICE - KESSEL MOTORS GARDENS STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. I took my car in for a service at Kessel Motors in Gardens during 2025. At inspection and handover of my vehicle when checking it in for the service the booking in sheet was complete by myself and the mechanic and signed acknowledging NO DAMAGES on my vehicle (I was not given a copy of this booking in sheet). During the course of my service the mechanics damaged the paint on my front bumper when working on the car. Upon collection of my vehicle the mechanic admitted (verbally) to the damage occurring to my vehicle whilst on site. Subsequent to the day of collection I was advised by Kessel Motors to get quotations to fix the damaged that Kessel Motors admitted to causing. After providing quotes Kessel Motors turned doing the following dishonest and *****ulent actions: - stated that they did not admit to them being the cause of the damage. - they altered the booking in sheet that I had sign at hand over of my vehicles to reflect that we "agreed" on "damages noted" on the car at hand-over which we did not identify. This was in fact them *****ulently altering the document when not in my presence. - they threatened legal action against me when trying to get ahold of the shop's owner to discuss the matter. Upon reading upon on Facebook and other platforms I identified that there have been cases of damage etc. to other people's cars. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST BUSINESS

My car went into Kessel Motors for a misfire. Even I new it wasn’t the coil pack and other parts needed. I was quoted almost R4k. Then you established its injectors which isn’t the problem either! You should've tested it either by diagnostic fault code or physically in the first place before replacing anything else! Then you still want to charge me almost R4k for parts you’ve replaced because of your misdiagnosis! Now they holding my vehicle and saying it’s the head, needs to come off, skimmed etc etc.

Dealing with Kessel Motors was probably one of my worst consumer experiences. I took my vehicle in after a sudden power loss. That was the beginning of a saga in which the costs to repair the car ballooned by the day, with Paul from Kessel Motors regularly identifying new issues. After more than a month of shocking communication, I fetched the car and was given a bill of more than fifty thousand rand. Needless to say, the car was in a shocking condition, with a serious oil leak. Paul asked me to return the vehicle so that they could do further work. I was very suspicious by then, especially after they quoted me more than double what Jeep charged for a replacement battery. The same app**** to tow parts they claimed to have replaced on the vehicle. It became evident that Kessel Motors was running nothing but a ****. Subsequently, I took the vehicle to another auto repair shop, which assessed the work that was supposedly previously done by Kessel Motors, just to be informed that the itemised issues as per their bill didn't correspond with the actual work done, and wherever it did correspond, Kessel Motors used inferior or pirated parts. They also confirmed that several items Kessel Motors claimed to have done were blatantly false. Two days later, the new repair shop returned my vehicle in perfect condition, with an invoice for only R3 500,00. It is scandalous that companies like Kessel Motors are still allowed to be in business. It is evident from the other reviews of Hellopeter that they have been conducting this **** for many years, with multiple other victims. My advice is to avoid these people at all costs. Subsequently

Took the car for a service two months ago, but now the car shows that it's due for service in 800km😡 and worse part is that they charged for spark plugs which they did not change, now the car has a problem. I wonder if they did service at all!!!

KESSEL MOTORS - 60 LOOP STREET On Friday, the 15th July 2022, I had booked my vehicle in at Kessel Motors Loop street. The vehicle was booked in for a fan belt change, a fan belt tensioner pulley, one head light and two break lights. I was dealing with Paul and had an initial pleasant interaction. Once I collected the car on the Friday afternoon I could only inspect it on the Saturday and report back to Paul the following week - I had seen that the break light housing had been damaged when being removed to replace the bulb. After some back and forth with Paul, I brought in the vehicle and was told that the chip in the plastic looks old (It is a 2006 opel corsa so I think that the entire housing looks old, the chip however, was not there before I had booked in my car). Next, I was told that an assessor would come in to assess when the crack in the plastic occurred. I agreed to it and waited to be informed of when I could bring in the car next. On two occasions I was told on the day, with an hour or so in advance to bring the vehicle in with no warning or time to make the necessary arrangements. With the nature of my own job I cannot just be told on the day to come in at a particular time. This was dealt with in a very unprofessional manor. In addition, I relayed that I would like to be told in advance when I need to bring the vehicle in so I can be present. I deem it virtually impossible to assess a crack in plastic and then to tell someone when the crack occurred WITH THE NAKED EYE. If this assessment had to occur, I would expect some form of technology that can to fair degree of accuracy detect how old a crack is, because my 20/20 vision definitely cannot tell. I refused to leave my vehicle with them and to this day I have not received a message or call back from Paul. I think that the unprofessionalism and reluctance to ensure that your customer feels satisfied, makes this service provider highly unreliable and I would not recommend them to anyone. Should water enter the lights housing the whole unit will need to be replaced and this whole process would cost me more than the entire job sheet I sent in the car for in the first place. Kessel motors has no evidence that light housing came in damaged, as they took no due diligence to even assess the car but now they dispute the fact that I, the owner of the car, did not know that it was in one piece before I brought it to them. I realize this is a minor issue, but how they handled this, the unprofessionalism and lack of care for the customer is what deeply concerns me. Stay away from this place.
