I'm concerned about Khewija Engineering & Construction, managed by Jesper L****n and Themba Mabuza. Despite my father's dedication, even during his illness, they failed to pay him, and he has since passed away. Many employees, unpaid for months, are leaving. This pattern of exploitation is unacceptable. I urge against working with them.

Johan Gouws commenced employment with Khewija in October 2021. His initial responsibilities included preparing documentation and procedures for an audit, as well as establishing the analyser department from Sasol to Khewija. Despite working diligently and securing a project contract by April 2022, Johan faced ongoing challenges, including delayed payments and unmet promises from management, notably Themba Mabuza and Jesper L****n. Johan's salary, initially set at R83,526, was inconsistently paid, with significant discrepancies occurring, such as receiving only R17,222 in May 2022 without explanation. Despite assurances of pending payments due to client issues, Johan's salary remained unpaid, exacerbating his stress, which was later compounded by a diagnosis of lupus in January 2023. Despite efforts to engage with Khewija's HR department and management regarding his situation, including discussions about disability benefits due to his health condition, Johan's concerns remained unaddressed. Tragically, Johan passed away on March 5, 2023, without receiving the owed compensation. Furthermore, despite his passing, neither Themba Mabuza, Jesper L****n, nor Lavhelesani Dladia of Khewija reached out to Johan's family to offer condolences or address outstanding issues. Despite efforts to seek resolution through legal channels, communication from Khewija remained unresponsive. This situation highlights concerns about Khewija's employment practices and treatment of employees, with allegations of delayed payments and lack of support, ultimately resulting in a distressing outcome for Johan and his family. Such practices raise questions about ethical standards within Khewija and its relationships with its clients, including prominent entities like Sasol, who may indirectly condone such treatment by continuing to engage with Khewija despite awareness of these issues.
