I have ordered a new Kia Picanto from Kia Paarl and on 29 April 2022 transferred the full purchase amount into their account. At that stage the car was still with Kia SA and delivered to Kia Paarl much later. On 20 May 2022 my wife and I eventually took delivery of the new Picanto. It then emerged that the warranty and maintenance plan kicked in on 29 April 2022. Surely this resulted in a three week shorter warranty and maintenance plan. Kia Paarl just ignored me irrespective of my several complaints. The salesman Juan firmly supported me, so the workshop manager Eugene but Kia Paarl just did nothing to rectify this obvious fault. To sum up: Kia Paarl put things into operation whereby the date of settling the invoice is the date on which the warranty and maintenace plan kicks in, irrespective of how long after that day you take delivery, thereby shortening your warranty et al by , in my case, nearly three weeks. And you do not need to complain ,they just ignore you.
