My mom who is a stroke survivor and admitted at Kiaat high care was left unattended and suffered head injury. She called for assistance to get to the bathroom and she was ignored. She tried to help herself and she fell and suffered head injury. The hospital did not bother to even inform the registered next of kin on file. They don't even feed her.The nurses just leave her meals by the bedside. How is such a patient in her state supposed to feed herself and take medication?Nursing care is so bad a Kiaat! After the head injury, they moved my mom further away from the nurses station to next to the toilet.Mind you she has a cvp line and is partially disabled and has low BP,is she then supposed to walk to the toilet now that she is closer?Instead of treating her as a fall risk, the treatment is worsening. And to top that, the staff involved took my mom for x-ray?Who is going to pay???Appalling service!

Emergency care unit was absolutely perfect but as soon as we got to the pediatric ward things went downhill. My child was supposed to get operated only to find out she won't be operated on the day that was set only the next day. Keep I mind she was not allowed to drink or eat, we never even got the menu till the afternoon, then it got to 17:00 still no food or drink. This has got to be the ****tiest hospital I have ever been to! Nurses have a don't give a **** attitude. Eventually on day two receiving food it's not even what you ticked off. If you ever want to die this will be the place to go to.

I agree with those who say this should be a public hospital! Utterly disgusting treatment 🚮…… the below is my brother’s experience currently in their hospital: From the very first day until today, I am completely dissatisfied, disappointed and unhappy about the treatment I received from Kiaat hospital. The nurses showed incompetence in knowing what to do, my temperature was at 38 degrees and she didn’t know what to do, the machine connected to my GSW to drain the poison and dirt were not charged and my feet started swelling and I I experienced incredible pain to which i asked them to check the machines but they didn’t. They got angry and had attitude every time I called them with a discomfort. I am working to be transferred to Mediclinic and will never recommend this hospital to anyone! Even the first attending Dr came to see me 15 hours after I had been brought it with 3 GSW! There is absolutely No sense of urgency in an ICU with no proper working plugs. To say I and my family are disgusted with the service I received would be an understatement!

Have never had a good experience at this hospital. I am currently in need for my mom doctor to complete forms he is unable saying that documents are in achieve the doctor has done all he can from his side but the hospital doesn't seem to want to assist him in getting the information this is truly frustrating and is really on. Sitting for 2 weeks now and nothing and this forms are needed.

There's a gentleman working at the casualty reception who needs to be fired immediately..very rude and unprofessional individual..we had to drive all the way to Medi-Clnic in Nelspruit because of this man's incompetence Never setting foot in this hospital again thanks to this one person (nb the two ladies working with this individual were very welcoming and professional)

I have always chosen Kiaat as my hospital when I lived in MP. I moved away about 2 years ago and moved back recently. In 2 years the quality of service of the hospital and it's staff has declined tremendously!! I am VERY disappointed. I am diabetic, while in ER I requested food numerous times. I waited 3 hours before a nursing staff gave me their food because my sugar dropped. And I was told there was a glitch in the kitchen. No important information given about medication and doses are recorded and no care is taken in administering it correctly. When asked to speak to a manager, you are merely ignored.

Im not even sure where to start with the Drs of this hospital. Firstly the nurses did a great job not much to complain about them my anger is with Dr Shobe!!!! My gran ma had a mild stroke she was supposed to go to a rehabilitation center, Dr Shobe was supposed to write a letter to the center so they will accept her, next best thing Dr Shobe says my gran ma didnt get a stroke but the MRI says exactly that so I dont understand. Then he discharged her at night and the family only got to know in the morning. He was in contact with my mom and the understanding they both had was that my gran would go to the rehab center. None of us actually know what Dr Shobe looks like, we have never seen him. The communication between him, the nurses and my family was really bad. 3 days passed and we didnt know what was wrong with my gran ma. We live far away, and my sister would go there everyday, the nurses still couldn't communicate what the Dr had said, no notes were writtenin the file. I am very disappointed in this so called "PRIVATE" hospital. Never again will you see us. I want to take this up with management too it is unacceptable

This hospital is nothing more than a glorified government hospital, doesn’t make sense why we pay so much for such below par service. You wait for at least three hours before you can get a mere admission, that time you are sick. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve previously lost patients in the reception area waiting for admission. Sickening
