I purchased a Volkswagen Polo GTI from King of Cars on 25 April 2024, and immediately after taking delivery, the car showed serious mechanical faults — including gearbox problems, overheating, steering knocks, and difficulty selecting gears.
I returned the vehicle to the dealership almost immediately, and they provided me with a courtesy vehicle for the month of May 2024 while promising to repair the defects. However, months later, the matter has still not been resolved, and I have not been able to enjoy or use the car that I’m paying for through MFC finance.
I have repeatedly emailed and followed up with Karen and Weslie Britz at King of Cars, but my concerns are being ignored. This situation is unacceptable and falls under my rights as a consumer in terms of Sections 55 and 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, which protect buyers from defective goods sold as roadworthy or reliable.
