What should have been a very nice lunch with 2 friends turned out to be terrible. New winter special menu in what looked like a very colonial old SA restaurant which u don't see to much of these days. Starters were ok...but warm (The mussels I was told were very nice and in chipped crockery) My peri peri chicken livers were all sauce! I think I found 3 small pieces. Deep fried Risotto ***** looked very nice and I'm told were. The Cape Malay curry was tasteless with dry cold rice and a stale pompom. Hake Goujons (more like fish fingers) were warm and greasy with stale cold fry's and warm mushy Peas (half raw with a slime sauce, you guys have no idea what Mushy peas are because if u did u would not serve such a stupid interpretation) I had some kind of veggy bake with lentils served on a large baking hot plate with a cold sauce some micro greens (all soggy because of the heat) and a sliced avocado (warm n soggy again due to the heat from the plate) the onion bhajis was terrible. it was all onion rings pre cooked then re-cooked together with batter to form a huge bhajis. Burnt, tasted of stale oil, 'COLD' & I can still taste the oil in my mouth now after 2 hrs of sampling it. After saying something to our waitress 'FRANCISCA' about leaving most of the food (we were not asked why we had not eaten much????) she said sorry got the manager on duty who really was seemed not to be interested in what I had to say about the food. This restaurant sits over 100 people and I'm told has a great atmosphere in the evening and I'm sure it does. My concern here is if the food is this bad when around 12 people were eating at lunch then what would the food be like on a busy night?
