my dear friend reserved tables for her baby shower today from 13.30 to 16.30. During the programme and festivities, at 16.15 we were ordered by the manager to go and sit outside on the grass, no umbrella/gazebo provided as they were expecting "guests". At this time, we were planning to wrap up so that we can leave at 16.30, however, due to their shocking unprofessionalism they interrupted the programme. My friend kindly obliged and agreed to sit outside to avoid any drama and continue with her programme at 16.20. The inconvenience of trying to move the decor, with no help from managers/staff, we sat outside knowing there was 90% chance of rain. No apologies received since. We wrapped everything up, at 17.00 my friend requested for the bill such that she could settle it. To her surprise, the waiters added items she did not order. By this time, the "guests" who were to arrive had not arrived. The bill she had to settle came up to R12k. She settled it. The owner had no shame whatsoever, he did not even attempt to sort out the discrepencies. Clearly his main concern was to make sure that all black people were chased out of their establishment. What a negative and frustrating experience. No regard to an 8 month old, heavily pregnant woman! racism should never be tolerated in a civilized society!
