Very disappointing experience. Having stayed at Lagoon Beach 2 years ago, I recommended my extended family to the accommodation for their first visit to Cape Town. I am sad to say that the the quality of the hotel/apartments and service received was totally appalling. Their standard has drastically dropped. Upon arriving, we inspected all 3 units which were completely different to the pictures on their website. The bathrooms were filthy with green and black moss and grime stained all over the tiling and shower area. We requested a new room for the elder family members only to be given a room in a far worse state which we declined. One of the units had a faulty fridge which the facilities person could not fix. The next day we were told that the fridge was changed while we was out only to find the same non-working fridge in place with about R500 worth of food spoiled. On the 2nd night in another unit that we booked one of the globes randomly exploded tripping the power. ****roaches were ever present in all 3 units including the bathrooms. We also requested a baby cot and roll up mattress for a 2year old baby which we were told would be made available, only to be given a disgusting pee stained cot and mattress. We requested a new one which arrived a few hours after requesting it, sometime around midnight. One of the reasons we opted for a self catering unit was to prepare our own food, this was made very difficult as the stoves in the apartment to not work properly. Meals had to be prepared in 2 apartments at the same time as only one plate per stove could work at the same time. This was a horrible experience especially for people that visited Cape Town for the first time. We basically experienced 2 star service for the price of your so called "4 star" accommodation.
