I am sharing my experience to warn other consumers about what appears to be a coordinated **** involving CDS Consulting, Law Aid Africa, and DC Partners. I was recently placed under debt review without my consent by CDS Consulting, who also debit my bank account without me authorising or giving them a mandate. When I investigated, I discovered that Law Aid Africa—a company I have never had any contact with—also listed me under debt review. Numerous complaints online describe the exact same experience with both companies, suggesting they share the same modus operandi and are likely working together. Both companies use a third-party payment facilitator, DC Partners, to process debit orders on victims’ accounts. When I contacted DC Partners, they confirmed that CDS Consulting had loaded the debit order through their system, though they claim to be only a service provider. I also managed to trace the debt counsellor responsible for submitting my details for debt review: Bongaletu [surname withheld], contact number 071 420 4231 (which is now inactive). I do not know who this person is and had never had any interaction with him/her. None of the supposed debt counsellors or company representatives answer calls, WhatsApp messages, or emails—yet they continue to collect money and fail to pay creditors. To their credit, DC Partners have at least responded to my inquiries and requested documents for their own internal investigation. This situation appears to involve *****ulent debt review listings and unauthorised financial transactions, and I am continuing to gather evidence and report it to the relevant authorities, including the National Credit Regulator (NCR), FSCA, and SAPS. Consumers should be extremely cautious when dealing with these companies. If you notice any unauthorised debit orders from unfami**** entities, contact your bank immediately, dispute the transactions, and report them to the NCR. Constantly follow up with NCR to ensure prompt assistance. I will continue to share updates as the investigation progresses.

The South African government and private sector are isolating me. I have been abused for the last 12 years now and government of South Africa with their friends have been abusing me and they are refusing me exit from South Africa. Police in South Africa and other labour or human rights organisations refused to intervene in my matter but case went missing . Anyone who might me reading this message please tell the world that South African government is a totalitarian regime and they are using my family to abuse and overlook my rights. Courts in South Africa are ******* and South African and their corporate organisations including other international players are trying to kill me and my two sons. They have already vaccinated them with a chemical that made my sons sick. Help me as South African uses Africa immigrants to silence me and they claim they are asylum seekers. Police have abused me on more than one occasion because I was talking about politics in south africa

LawAid called me and said they can combine my installments on my house and car and negotiate a lower interest rate with my bank. They confirmed that I would not have to do anything further and I would only notice that I will pay R4000 less each month. No strings attached. While we were talking I got an SMS that they are doing a credit check for which I did not give consent. A while later when buying food my credit card was declined and the bank said I am under debt review, therefore I cannot use my cerdit card. Nobody mentioned anything about debt review during the telephone conversation. The only way it could be reversed was for LawAid to send a reversal letter to the bank. For 2 days it was impossible to reach them on their official web site's contact numbers. Every time I called an answering service with an oriental voice stated that I must call later. I must have tried about 30 or 40 times to call them. Eventually I went on their web site and requested a quote for one of their products, thus they will call ME for that. Very soon afterwards they did and I got the consultant's direct contact number in case we get cut off. Thus that seemed to be the only way to get hold of them. The letter was sent but I had to pay (funny enough) R4000 for their services. My accounts were accessible again after a few days but it took my bank a month to get my credit card back online. Apparently only high-ranking members can do that - all the agents at the bank's help desk do not have that authority. So all seemed well again, but every now and again a debt counseling company calls me offering help since they noticed that I am under debt review (which I am not). But my name has been tarnished and on some main data base I am still listed as under debt review. A month later, LawAid contacted me AGAIN with the same offer. I played dumb and went along, specifically telling the agent that I do not give consent for a credit check. I asked if I will be placed under debt review and the agent categorically stated that that will never happen. So either their agents are not aware that they are an evil ****ming company or they are in on it. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH LAW AID, they will cause you an astonishing amount of hardship.

Phoned me, very disrespectful. I did not consent to them to pull my credit record, the lady said that they have access to everyone's credit record. Then I said I did not consent to pull my credit record and then I hanged up. I received a message to say that I consented. Very unprofessional and this cannot be legal. I am not even a client.

I was contacted by a consultant telling me that I'm under debt review again just because I've opened a few new accounts since clearing my name in December. I am flabbergasted with the disrespect received during the phone call and not being given a chance to speak. This is disgusting behaviour and then to top it all off I've been sent an sms saying I gave consent, with the incorrect ID in the SMS to request a credit report. If you tell me I'm under debt review, why would you need to request a credit report, surely you should then already have that information. You people are ****mers and should stop calling people.

I got a call from a consultant of LawAid yesterday. She stated that my accounts were in arrears by months which is news to me since my payments are debited every month. I then get a sms while on the call to say I have granted them access to my credit report. I did not give them permission to access it. In fact, I asked her how she has access to my account information. This is very intrusive and I would recommend people reporting them for ********ly accessing one's credit information.
