Dear Law Society, I am writing to report an incident involving Tashriq Ahmed, who charged me R17000 on 16th April 2024 to handle my cousin Zeeshan Rafiq's case. Zeeshan was arrested at Refugee Home Affairs in Cape Town and someone recommended Tashriq Ahmed's services to us. However, I later found out that Tashriq Ahmed had been suspended in November 2023 and failed to show up for the court date. When I asked him to refund my money due to his lack of professional services, he began threatening me. In response, I reported his behavior on Hellopeter for his unprofessionalism and mistreatment of clients. Now he is threatening legal action against me, claiming that his career has been ruined because of my actions. Given that Tashriq Ahmed was already involved in ********* practices prior to this incident, it raises concerns about why he is still allowed to practice law after being suspended. He has a history of providing *****ulent documents and overcharging clients before deporting them. I kindly request that you investigate this matter further and take appropriate action against Tashriq Ahmed for his misconduct. It is important to protect the rights of individuals seeking legal assistance from such dishonest practitioners. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Asif Khan

Good day, Law Society, I am submitting a complaint regarding Tashriq Ahmed, who operates the law firm of Ahmed & Associates. I hired him to assist with obtaining a work permit. Initially, he charged R5000 upfront and promised that the remainder would be paid once the permit was issued. However, he retained my passport for three months and claimed that he was busy handling my case. When I urgently needed my passport to travel to Johannesburg, I requested its return and inquired about the progress of my application. He failed to provide a satisfactory response. Upon further investigation, I discovered that Mr. Tashriq Ahmed was suspended last November. It is concerning that he accepted my case despite his suspended status and has yet to make any progress on my work permit application. I am now seeking a refund of the fees paid. I kindly request that you take appropriate action against Mr. Tashriq Ahmed for his failure to fulfill his obligations and return my funds. Sincerely, Harold

Exams were written in November 2014 and to date LEAD SA has refused / neglected to issue certificates to successful students, despite various requests / enquiries.
