My wife and I visited Leeuenhof in October 2013, what an absolute amazing experience. So we decided to celebrate her birthday again on the 5th of October at Leeuenhof. What a total disaster. We stayed in the Mwezi suite which is supposed to be one of the best rooms available, not at all. The carpet is burnt, the jacuzzi was permanently full of leaves and sand and the doors are falling apart. On the evening of my wife's birthday we decided to have a meal at the restaurant. The waiter recommended the "picnic", which is supposed to be a nice big platter full of tasty finger foods. We only waited 15 minutes for it and we suspected everything came out of the freezer and was just warmed up in the microwave. And this for R500, with nothing to drink with it. The food was so bad we hardly ate anything, we brought it home and fed it to the dogs who also struggled to eat it because everything was rock hard and dry. But Monday's breakfast was the cherry on the top. My wife ordered an omelette and told the waiter it must be without peppers and onions. It came with a cup full of peppers inside, so I sent it back and said please no peppers. It came back half the size still with peppers in and we realised the chef just sc****d out most of the peppers and send it out again. So al in all a terrible experience and we will definitely not visit any of the Sampada lodges's establishments ever again

Shocked by the experience we just experienced at your hotel. Drove far to get ripped off! Got served 2 ****tails at R250 glasses were not even full and the long island ice tea was not made correctly! After waiting more than 30 min! When we asked for manager we got Laughed at thinking it was a joke! Place needs maintenance and new bar staff and a educated manager! There was no se proper menu and they just charge accordingly to a shot!

I decided to have a quick breakaway with a friend of mine to Leeuwenhof Country Lodge and Garden Spa.

· The main attraction the pool in the middle of the garden that is shown was green and we decided not to swim in this. Nevertheless we did sit around the pool for the biggest part of Saturday afternoon and not once did a waiter approach us to determine if we would like a drink.

· We had breakfast an hour before closing time. No waiter in sight for a good few minutes before coffee was served. I literally had the last few s****s of bacon and the last sausage at the buffet table and the rest had to be made at the kitchen.

· TV in the room old CRT TV - substandard.

· The facilities at the “spa” with two cold pools in my view also under standard.

When we left and I wanted to pay the bill the card machine did not work - no backup etc.

At R 1,800 per day a great disappointment.

Dr. Johan Bosch
