I would like to lay a complaint and find out how I can recover my money from the online financial services company known as LOAN SA (compu-credit). Due to financial needs at the beginning of the year I searched online for loans and numerous companies including the one mentioned seemed to offer hope.

After having "registered/ applied" on their site I was sent email notifications about my purchase of a "so-called package". I immediately read the fine print and noted the cancellation policy. I cancelled within the cooling period and even sent messages to their help-desk declining the agreement and their services. I further called some time later to confirm that they would not debit my account.

On my payday, I was debited and I called asking for a refund. They gave me an email address which I was meant to send my banking statement reflecting the debited amount. Having done this I was sent a form to fill in and return on the 31 January 2017.

According to their form which I have attached I was meant to receive my refund within 7 days (it was not specified whether these would be working or not). A week later when I called to enquire about the progress of the refund I was told that there had been an internal error which had resulted in a back log and I would have to be patient, this was on the 7th of February 2017.

After having tried calling for most of the morning and sending numerous email still no response and or explanation was sent to me. Finally a few moments ago I was able to get through to a lady called Shaista, who refused to give me her full name and insisted that I be patient regardless of the fact that they were not offering me a tangible solution like a time frame when I could expect my refund.

My dilemma now is I would like to reverse the debit order with my bank however on the refund form it states that, if such an action is taken then the refund will be forfeited and I will be liable for the remainder of the contractual costs, something I would really like to avoid. I am now left feeling as though I have no other recourse but to seek help from other avenues.
