On Sat 9 March 2019 we attended the Bulls vs Sharks game at Loftus. The Choc Foundation was there and we brought my brother-in-law to the game whom has colon cancer. As we were on our way down the stairs he collapsed due to the heat and not being as strong as he has hoped to be. It took 10 min for us to get the response of the Tshwane EMT after I had to run to 2 gates and 3 security people later calling on their radios for help. There was an ambulance parked at the gate inside the facility but with nobody in sight. How is this possible. When the EMT got to us he did a vital check and gave him some water, we requested a wheelchair as we still had to go all the way to Block Y. To our surprise there are no wheelchairs available for an emergency at Loftus Versfeld!!! How unacceptable. You hosted one of the biggest games of the year and you are all for the support of cancer patients but you have the minimum limited resources when it came to the medical emergency of such a person. I am disappointed and furious that my brother-in-law had to experience this! What on earth will have happened in the event of a major incident at the stadium, with 1 EMT available in 10 minutes time!!! Get yourselves geared up with the events that you are hosting!!
