My 91-year-old mother was at Louis Leipoldt from Friday, 3 October, to Wednesday, 8 October. Between Monday, 6 October, at 18:30 and Tuesday, 7 October, at 16:00, her 100 ml Red Door perfume was ****** when she was moved from the Medical Ward to High Care, and her pajamas was swapped for a hospital gown. Who *****s from an old, sick woman in your care? How disgusting and disrespectful! Shame on you, whoever you are. You have brought Louis Leipoldt into disrepute by your dishonesty and disrespect. I hope that you are proud of yourself and that when you wear my mother's perfume, you remember that you stole it from a 91-year-old woman who trusted you.

I had a largely positive experience at the hospital on September 20, 2025, with friendly staff from the entrance to the doctor and X-ray department. However, one sister harsh behavior stood out, as she abruptly asked us to leave the ward so the cleaner could make the bed, despite the adjacent bed being empty. While the service was excellent, the shocking part was the cost – a R1,000+ fee just for stepping into the facility, plus additional charges for the doctor (R842) and X-rays which came to almost the amount. If you're considering visiting this hospital, be prepared for a substantial bill, this is excluding prescription costs at the pharmacy.

The wheels of justice are moving slowly, but surely. Dr Boer from Louis Leipoldt caused my daughter to go into a coma through his very negligent and unprofessional behavior. He was then protected by Therese Wilson and the Health Profession Councel of SA. My daughter was admitted to Louis Leipoldt per appointment for tests only as she had trouble sleeping at night. She was given oxygen upon her arrival at the ward that took her carbon dioxide levels from 5 to 27 putting her into a coma only a few hours after my daughter was admitted for tests per appointment, there was no medical emergency. When Dr Boer came into the ward and I met him for the very first time, I wanted to give him feedback and background about my daughter. Halfway through my very first sentence I ever spoke to Dr Boer......... he said, do net let you and me doubt each others competencies. And that was the extend of our conversation. If he was willing to collect background and listen, he would have realised that he is working with a COPD patient. For those of you that dont know, a COPD patient has a different oxygen level than the normal person, if given supplemental oxygen, the person must be closely monitored for elevated carbon dioxide levels. Well Dr Boer failed to identify that my daughter was a COPD patient, because he refused that I give him any background, he also did not contact the referring dr for any background, this was confirmed by the referring Dr. At that point they decided to lie and say my daughter was admitted with pneumonia, although the tests that were done 3 hours after she was admitted states that her white blood count is normal (not fighting an infection)….. and the xray with report stated “no evidence of lower respiratory track infection”. They also *****ulently indicated on the forms that was completed in the ICU that very same day…….. that my daughter suffers from epilepsy. This *****ulent incorrect info was added to “explain” the seizures that my daughter started getting because of the overdose of oxygen. I can carry on and on. I am eventually getting justice for my daughter, a tsunami is on its way to you Dr Boer and you Theresa Wilson and you Sister Klein, because you sister Klein you refused for my daughter to be re admitted to the ICU o 26 Dec 2022, you Sister Klein you also refused that the ambulance person speak to a doctor, all of this is *******. A few days later the hospital put a letter “delivered by hand” in my post box, stating that we may bring Andrea back to the hospital, to little to late………….. because sister Klein refused to re admit Andrea to the ICU, which is 15 min away from our home…………….. Andrea got the run around the Cape peninsula that evening while seizuring like hell………………and only got proper medical care by the next day. Needles to say, Andrea never woke up again. Anybody that wants more information on this horrific experience and *****, can phone me on 0824412341. I have proof of everything I am stating here, solid proof.

I am extremely upset in the way the medi-clinic Louis Leipoldt handled my account. My husband has been admitted on 12 Aug and I had to make a co-payment of R5490. (R1830 for admission and R3660 for procedure). He was discharged on 21 Aug. My medical aid waivered part of the co-payment, the R3660. So I made an overpayment on my co-payment. Now I am struggling to get this back. The medical aid run was on 13 Sept, almost a week ago. They said they can't refund me until the money appear in their account, however they got the remittance on their screen which they sent me a screenshot. My husband has been admitted again on 30 Aug and I had to make another co-payment of R1830. This is a different admission. Now the hospital wants to wait until that account has been settled before I get my refund. How can you keep my money aside? Each and every account should be dealt with separately. When the admission of the one account is settled and there is an overpayment I should get my money back. Medi-clinic is just there for the money. They are not interested in dealing with you as a patient and with your welfare. They just want your money. I spoke to Ruth Booysen and Leonie Smit.

The WORST NURSING STAFF. They are unprofessional, rude, *********** and disinterested in performing their duties. They are an embarrassment to the health-care profession in South Africa.
