I recently submitted a warranty claim on my Ray-Ban sunglasses. This was handled promptly & efficiently by the staff at Sunglass Hut & Luxottica. After collecting the glasses from me, the claim was processed in less than a week and a voucher issued on the same day. I can highly recommend Rebecca Maharaj, the rest of the warranty team in Cape Town & Luxottica. Also to S'lindile ZA008369 at Sunglass Hut Watercrest Mall for the friendly, efficient service on the phone as well as in the store and for reserving the only pair in stock for me. We took advantage of the Valentine's Day 50% off on the second pair promo.

One star is too much. Since Luxotica took over Ray ban, the service has gone to the dogs.I bought two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses, both valued at R3500 each and I had a problem with the pair with brown lenses that were giving me eye strain and headaches and asked them to exchange the lenses. Firstly, the service staff were arrogant and inattentive They then told me that they would test the glasses which consisted of one of the service staff supposedly wearing them and then reporting no fault and refused to help me. An attempt to get help from someone in higher authority was also blocked. This entire exercise cost me over R500 in phone calls, fuel to drive there and a huge amount of time with no resolution. The fault lies with Luxotica who are making an inferior product since Bausch and Lomb pulled out and they refuse to acknowledge this. Very annoying as I collect Ray Bans and have about 20 pairs msouthwood@gmail.com

So we are very disappointed with the service from Luxottica. We have been dealing with the below team leader but response is extremely slow and no phone calls get returned, that’s if you are able to get through with the high call volumes. Ilhaam Lapperts CIC Team Leader Case number #412,333 We have had this experience befor with Oakley lenses where the film starts to bubble and eventually flake off - I act have to other sets of lenses that done this as well with the Oakley product. Unfortunately this is the only way I am going to have there lenses replaced as I get no service when going into a sunglasses hut ect in my area. I am told by Luxottica that everything will be ready for me at the store and I won’t have the run around like i did befor but I went again today and the two staff members new nothing of what I was asking, which means nothing was done again. I am hoping that someone from Luxottica will call me to sort these faulty lenses out. We spend a lot of money on these kinds of products but if the don’t last why support the brand ?

It seems Luxotoica are the agents for same.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have contacted them at leats 5 times, speaking to different Customer Care agents all promising to give me feedback. One told me to take the glasses to an Optomitrist for evaluation, which I did. Classique Optical in Greenstone. Photos were taken and feedback promised. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Very very poos service. Despite the professional impression, the service is useless.</p>

<p>I recieved my yet another pair of Ray Ban Sunglasses last year for my birthday, this turned out to be very dreadful experience.</p> <p>The outer cover on the sunglasses started peeling away after a year.</p> <p>After numerous attempts with Sunglasses hut to even take in the glasses for repair i managed to send it to them to have the glasses repaired.</p> <p>After which i recieve a letter below:</p> <p>"</p> <p>Dear Sunglass Hut Customer</p> <p>RE: Incident 345094/323716</p> <p>Please be advised that we have assessed your product (on behalf of Sunglass Hut) and have concluded that the claim is not a valid warranty claim; your warranty claim has been declined due to the fault not being one of a manufacturing shortfall.</p> <p>Luxottica warrants that the purchased product is free from manufacturing defects (in material or workmanship) for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase.<br />This warranty does not cover: scratches; damages caused by accident, abuse, neglect, shock, improper use or storage of the product; unauthorized modifications or repairs; normal wear and tear. The exclusions are applicable to all parts of the full product, including Frame, Lenses, Ear Socks, Nose Pads & other accessories.<br />Should you have any further enquiries, please feel free to contact us on the number provided below.</p> <p>Kind Regards, <br />Luxottica Aftersales"</p> <p> </p> <p>This is absolute nonsense because i have never had a pair of sunglasses which were actually peeling after a year.</p> <p>My wife did not pay R2500-00 for a pair of sunglasses to peel of after a year and some incompetent repair agent tell me that this is not a manufacturing defect!</p> <p> </p> <p>You may either refund me the total paid amount or repair my sunglasses</p>

<p>My Warranty claim was declined by Luxottica for my Oakley Sunglasses due to this reason</p> <p>your warranty has been declined due to the fault reported not being one of a manufacturing nature but one caused by misuse to the frame.</p> <p>However in a follow up email this is what the aftersales Lady Theresa said</p> <p>For a lens to result in a breakage of this nature, a lot of pressure has to be applied to the lens due to the impact resistance of the lens</p> <p>The above statements are contradictory and as the lens is cracked and the frame is in very good condition how did they get to this outcome!</p> <p>Thye basically just dont want to honour the warranty and by the way the glasses when I was not using them were always kept in a hard case...................</p>
