This is actually not a review, but a "research project". Our family are considering at least 5 days at Mabula but are as scared as ****. We have heard and know of so many incidents where visitors were blindly ****** and cleaned out of their belongings. When out of the chalets/bungalows and even at night while asleep It is apparently widely known and a fact that Mabula lodge staff are those that are *****ing visitors' cameras, laptops, other valuables.....can you imagine at night while visitors are asleep. Such a ********** atrocity. An inside job. We will MOST CERTAINLY not visit Mabula while these scandalous thefts still occur. We want to know if this place is now safe and if the theft of patron's belongings has stopped and the guilty fired or locked up or if this extremely bad situation still persists. Can we please get an answer and written undertaking from Mabula that we will not be ****** or injured, and that they will re-imburse us for all losses or injuries that may occur. We furthermore see numerous reviews on Hello Peter of visitors heavily complaining about service issues. Such as accommodation blunders and issues with food and the restaurant service. This is really bad news and really putting us and believe many other off from ever visiting the place. Regards.

We managed to purchase timeshare at Mabula Timeshare the week of Christmas (20 to 27 Dec 2024). Our much awaited Christmas break turned into a disaster. On the Sunday it poured with rain and power went out for 4 hours. On Monday 22nd Dec power went out at 12 noon and was restored for 2 hours on Tues night from 5-7 and then went off again. Other than feeble updates from the bushtime office and unhelpful reception staff, we had to leave and end our holiday early on the wed as still no power. This is UNACCEPTABLE for a gold crown resort. When we complained they offered us tea from the reception and offered us a gas stove which helped a bit. When we complained again they said we can charge our phones and torches at their office as they had a generator. I have emailed the timeshare as well as RCI etc and no-one has bothered to even reply. There should be generator back up for what these gold crown resorts cost in levies and timeshare. Very expensive and hugely disappointing experience. Many other guests left as well.

I should actually not reveal the secret to all, but at Bush Time @ Mabula, you really are treated well. The bangalos are modern and equiped (just needs an aircon!). The guides are informed and friendly. And lastly, the animals... Thank you to the maintenance team who assisted us when we had issues with our Venter's jockey wheel, you are stars. From the Welcome Braai, to the Thursday Tea and talk, the clean public areas. It was all just fabulous!

Write a complaints report based on the following: Reservation 15877, ACCOUNT #: PMBE010629, GUEST NAME: Mrs S Bronkhorst 1. Complaint: When we arrived at the main gate our names were not on the the list. We were allowed entry based on the reservation document. Reply: Please see attached extraction of our arrival list – The guests were on the gate list in Modjadji 42. Reply on reply: My wife's initials are not M Bronkhorst as indicated on the list 2. Complaint: When arriving at reception we could see that we were not booked and they allocate us a house. That was a house the furthers away from the main camp. Reply: Again, see attached our arrivals list, the guests were on the arrivals for Modjadji 42. Reason for the move from SB8 to 42: One of our staff members approved space banking for the owner for a full week, should only be a weekend. (unfortunately he is in hospital at the moment). We could not accommodate Mrs Bronkhorst in any SB unit for the full week as all te mid-weeks have other owners that occupied. As per the booking confirmation, the resort reserves the right to move guests to a different unit of the same sleeper size. Reply on reply: My wife's initials are not M Bronkhorst as indicated on the list. On point 2 Mabula wants to distance themselves instead of take responsibility. 3. Complaint: We had a terrible week trying to save guard our belongings from the ******s. We had to close all windows and doors all the time, in a house with no air conditioning. Reply: We inform guests on arrival about the ******s and ******s to keep all doors and windows closed. As you are aware, this is a game reserve with free roaming wildlife. Reply on reply: On point 3 I think its time that they take action on it. I know its a game reserve, but why not installing something such as clearview doors, air conditioners etc. Good Morning Mr. Bronkhorst, I trust you are well. We thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent stay at Mabula. We sincerely apologize that the resort did not meet with your expectations. Further to your mail, I sent your feedback to the resort management directly. Please see below their response. Should you in future experience any issues during your stay, please bring this to our attention at the time, so that we are able to assist immediately, thus ensuring you a hassle-free and relaxing stay. Do not hesitate to contact me should you require assistance with anything further. Have a lovely day, and week ahead. Kind Regards Belinda Beeton
