The standard at Macprop Letting has dropped. Glad I'm moving out month end. Units are not being maintained. Some complexes have been repainted to give fresh look but other not painted.From the outsidethey look good but inside ypu get different look. Please keep same standard to attract tenants

Will not recommend renting any property from Macprop. They do not maintain the property. They don not fix any problem or broken stuff. They don not respond to any emails or enquiries. They do not answer any phone calls. They write a contract to suit them. I`m struggling to fix issues from day one of renting with them. Most disappointing experience I have every encountered with a renting agency. Will not recommend them to any one.

Dear Macprop Rental Agency, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I have received from your agency they are PATHETIC . I have been attempting to resolve an issue regarding an electricity voucher since Monday, and despite multiple emails and phone calls, I have not received any resolution or even a response. My emails, sent since Monday, have gone unanswered. When I called, I was transferred to a person who is supposedly able to assist with electricity matters, but they have not answered their phone. This lack of communication and assistance is unacceptable. Furthermore, I am deeply concerned by what appears to be discriminatory treatment. The way I have been treated, even in the process of making an enquiry, suggests a lack of equal treatment based on skin color. It is appalling that a rental agency is allowed to operate when it cannot treat all clients equally. I am also still awaiting the return of my deposit, which aligns with previous negative reviews I have seen about your agency. However, my immediate concern is simply to receive assistance with the electricity voucher. Could you please advise on how I can receive proper service from your agency? Is there anyone besides the person in the office who can assist me with the electricity voucher? I look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution to these pressing issues.

I strongly advise against renting this apartments. Every time it rains, the unit floods — sometimes several inches of water, it stated in the living room and spread all over. This isn’t a one-time issue; it happens regularly. What’s worse is the landlord’s complete lack of concern. I’ve reported the flooding multiple times, and each time I’ve been met with indifference or vague promises that go nowhere. No help with cleanup or damages. It’s clear they care more about collecting rent than maintaining the property or ensuring tenant safety. I was once told that I should just expect the flooding every time it rains. And when I thought this is not enough, Elsabe went on to cut-off my electricity without following the right process. I communicated with her well in advance, but her attitude and rudeness, especially when dealing with people of colour, is on another level. She have no compassion whatsoever. If you value your belongings, your health, and peace of mind — look elsewhere, hence I am also moving out end of this month.

Macprop is fast to ask double deposit. They only physically do your application once a double deposit shows in their bank account. But the moment you exit, they are easy to keep the depost for as long as possible, and then also deducting unfounded fees. I opted to do exit cleanse myself. They approved at the expention that it was satisfactory. Then they deduct fees for the expention, so I pay them to do their job. I had to pay still for cleaning the premisses, even if I did it myself to their satisfaction. BUT worst of all, they charged me for a waterfiltering system that I left... excuse me, they gained. I paid for the installation (note: I first asked permission, stating it will be left), I left it to the benefit of them... but they charged me for it... R5000 short on deposit is maybe ok for others, but note, R5000 on every unit they score... who wins here. They just ignore my polite formal email requests. So clearly they could not care

I do not know why there are so many bad reviews, but I have been treated well from day 1. I am renting for a more than a month now and their complex is tidy and clean. They take care of the gardens, the trashbins, and everything in the complex. When I just moved in, the place was so clean that my mother wanted to clean the place to help me out and the white cloth she was using could not pick up a single speck of dust. There were a couple of small faults in the house. I emailed them late afternoon after their offices were closed, but early the next morning the guys were at my house to fix everything. They respond quickly and efficiently and is officially the best place I ever rented with. I am really blessed to have found this amazing place. Thank you for all your effort and keep up the good work.

Do not rent from these people. Even the good reviews I’m sure they did it themselves. The inconsistency is questionable
