1. Vehicle purchased with commitment to fit tow bar, mud flaps and side steps (as advertised but was not fitted). 2. Arrangements were made to fit the aforementioned and for the sidesteps to be exchanged for a front parking distance control unit. 3. On the day of receiving the vehicle, I reported that the spare key’s one remote button was not functioning correctly. Arranged for keys to be returned when PDC, tow bar and mud flaps were to be fitted. 4. PDC, tow bar and mud flaps were fitted on 17, 18 and 19 July during which I did not have a vehicle. Upon receiving the vehicle on 19 July 2023 I was advised by Julia, the branch manager that she would advise as to Mahindra’s decision pertaining to the remote control (Whole lock unit to be replaced or only the remote). 5. 20 July – Mahindra had to send a technician to connect the rear parking distance control unit that was disconnected after installation of the tow bar. 6. 24 July 2023 I reported to Julia with a supporting video clip that the PDC unit that was fitted was not functioning properly (only detects obstacles when nose of the vehicle is almost against the obstacle – further that the PDC does not cover the front corners of the vehicle’s bumper as I requested and arranged with Pieter Maree). Feedback was to be provided by Julia. 7. Since 17 July I have not heard anything from Julia again despite numerous attempts to contact her regarding the remote control. 5.1 Since 26 July I have not heard from Julia regarding the PDC unit that is not functioning properly. 5.2 31 July 2023 message sent per WhatsApp to follow-up, no feedback. 5.3 1 August 2023 message sent per WhatsApp to follow-up, no feedback. 5.4 1 August 2023 attempted to call Julia on her mobile. No answer. 5.5 1 August left a message with Mahindra Centurion for Julia to call me. No reply. 5.6 2 August 10:43 left a message with Mahindra Centurion for Julia to call me. No reply. 5.7 2 August attempted to contact Julia on her mobile twice – no answer – message per WhatsApp that she was in a meeting.
The above is pathetic to say the least. I was in the market to purchase an XUV300 for my son but decided against this.
Additionally, I enquired with Julia in one of the messages for her to call me about the functioning of the vehicle’s headlights. The brights do not stay on, they switch off after a couple of seconds. The one beam is focused on the road right in front of the vehicle.
Latest: Julia contacted me last week and we arranged for the vehicle to be collected this past Tuesday. It did not happen because the technician was allegedly sick. Arrangements were made for the vehicle to be collected today. It is now 10:00 and nobody collected the vehicle. Julia is ignoring my messages and calls.
Mahindra SA is not picking up calls to its switchboard either.
PATHETIC!
