We had a delicious lunch at Mariella's restaurant in Capaia winefarm on Sun 10th Oct. The food is sublime, service very attentive without being obtrusive, view is stunning. The tables are well distanced, hands are sanitised, temperature and contact details are taken before you are seated and all staff are wearing masks, so covid protocols are all satisfactory. If you have not tried this restaurant I thoroughly recommend it. Our starters were calamari with squid ink aioli, and blue cheese panacotta, mains were confit duck leg and slow roasted pork belly, desserts were passion fruit panacotta and dark chocolate mousse *****. Everything served beautifully with their accompaniments. Wine is very reasonable and delicious.

This weekend, one of my close friends got married at Capaia Wine Estate, just outside of Melkbosstrand. This place is hidden treasure. It takes a while to get there, but just beyond all the gravel and brown area, you'll find a green diamond.

I was wonderfully impressed by not only the scenery and food but also the amazing way that the staff treated all the guests. Even during the set up of the wedding ceremony area and reception, everyone was so helpful and friendly. The food was among many highlights of the evening. Wow! from the canap?s to the desert_ everything was so scrumptious and filling.

Everyone I spoke to said that my friends need to get married again, so that they can experience it all just one more time.

If you are a Cape Townian or visiting our city, please make your way to this gorgeous place_ or get married there lol. You wont be sorry.
