100% demand for funds; 0% satisfied.
I had the unfortunate experience of giving MAXIDOR // Maxi Projects a chance with a minor works installation of a security door.
The lead time was the first major hurdle as we are now on 28 working days.
Secondly, a 70% deposit is required to commence with the order, however, prior to installation, the remainder of the balance is due. I do have a major issue with this as the leverage is shifted completely to Maxidor as they are now in control of acceptable installation standards and not the client/project manager.
As a professional architect, I do not agree with this principle as satisfactory workmanship is essential prior to signing off a project, especially when working with client funds.
Unfortunately, KONSEP Architecture Studio cannot recommend MAXIDOR to any client due to this business principle as our firm nor our clients have no ability to control the quality of workmanship.
***UPDATE 11.05.2024: After full payment has been demanded prior to any form of installation, the installers arrived only to realize that the security door was not measured correctly and therefor has to be returned to the factory to be modified, further delaying the installation.
***UPDATE 13.05.2024: We were informed that due to wrong measurement taken by the Maxidor representative that the product needs to be sent back to Cape Town and this will cause an additional delay of 7 working days, bringing the total working days to manufacture and install a single 2000mm x 900mm security shutter to 36 working days (50 calendar days). No feedback yet from any Maxidor representative

7 Workings days came and went, no feedback received from Maxidor and no new installation date communicated.

Installation delayed until 03.06.2024

Installers arrived as promised, which was wonderful, however, the product was once again manufactured incorrectly, and thus installation could not take place. I made contact with Maxidor representative Bert Nel, who was my point of first contact to recommend cancellation of the project since trust in the companies competency has deteriorated to a point where I no longer feel comfortable with their product or installation methodology. I was referred to Massimo to deal with the matter. Awaiting feedback from Maxidor.
Unfortunately we only saw the HelloPeter reviews now, otherwise we would have steered clear of Maxidor.

The installation was cancelled on the 03rd of June after Maxidor delivered a product to site not suitable for installation due to wrong measurements and manufacturing issues.
The installer said that Maxidor will furnish a refund. A week has passed and no Maxidor representative has been in contact to arrange the refund.

No representative of Maxidor has attempted to make contact, nor do I have any reason to expect that a representative will attempt to make contact to address the issue. Unfortunately I had no option but to lodge a claim with the Consumer Goods Service Ombudsman.
