Good morning, I bought a brand new Suzuki S Presso this year March. Few issues from the start as per below: 1. The day of collection the roof light did not work, it was quickly rectified on the spot. I did think this is something that needs to be checked. Not a big deal. 2. In the first week I discovered my radio is not working as it should. I want back to Mekor Tygervalley (dealer) to test. I then had to return again for them to investigate and they had no curtesy car available and I had to work from home which is very inconvenient. I then had to return again for them to remove the radio, I got the radio back 3 weeks later and had to return again to for them to install. The radio is still not functioning great (Bluetooth) I was thinking this is something that should have been tested before selling the car once again. 3. I then (according to me) realized that the car auto/stop start is not working correctly. I asked that Mekor provide some concrete proof that the car is doing what it should and over 6 months later I still don’t have an answer. The curtesy car does what it should, I asked to test a similar car which was a brand new car and that car’s auto/stop start did not even work at all. I will be happy if they can at least show me that all the cars are doing this, same model as what I have. 4. In the first week of owning the car I got a crack in the windscreen which I replaced. Weeks later it started raining and I found rain water leaking into the car. I called Mekor to report it and I went back to PG Glass who replaced the windscreen. They investigated and advised the leak is not with the windscreen. I then returned to Mekor at their request so they can investigate. They had the car for a week and sealed everything, confirmed they found the leak. I received the car and the same thing happened again. I had to return the car again and they investigated again. They sealed everything again and when I received the car I found water leaking in again. I then found scratches on the car which they fixed, I now have paint stains on my steering wheel, not sure what they did. I returned the car again for the 3rd time for this issue. Mekor called me about 4 weeks later and asked me to come have a look at what they found. When I got there the car was stripped, passenger seat and dashboard removed. They found a leak in the windscreen. They showed me by using a pressure hose blasting water from the outside in, I could see the water coming in. I then called PG Glass and they went to Mekor and replaced the glass. I was told that this is now resolved which I will monitor. Week 5, I got a invoice from Mekor of R12500 for their services and labour. I then said there was no authorization from my side to run these costs and there was no communication that there will be a cost. They then offered to drop costs to just over R10000. I refused again and they asked me to come see them. I went to go see them and they offered R7500. I refused again. I was forced to hand their curtesy car back and they refused to give my car back until I pay. I did not have the money at the time and I had problems getting to work and back for 2 days. I then made a plan to get the money, went back and paid so I can get my car back so I can travel to work and back again. I don’t think this was handled correctly by Mekor. I contacted PG Glass and my insurance and they both said they will not absorb any costs as there was no authorization before hand. I agree PG was wrong here as they did their job incorrectly and confirmed on my return that the job was don correctly which was not the case. Mekor should have made me aware that there is a risk involved and that there might be costs, I was never in a position to make a decision on what the next steps would be. I could have had PG look at the windscreen again should I have known there is a risk. For Mekor to perform work without any form of authorization is unacceptable. They should have communicated this before hand and not after the fact, where do you draw the line, they could have come with a cost of R50000 and expect me to pay.
