1 September 2022: I’ve published the following on Hellopeter.com and sent to Merck Headquarters (USA). I copied Merck SA on it:
“I’ve just posted the following review of my experience with your South African branch on Hellopeter.com (A national instrument to complain about company services):
My latest correspondence (8 August 2022) to Merck says it all: “ Hi Bronwyn, this is unfortunately by far not good enough. The order and payment was already done in November 2021. Delivery was promised in January 2022 and since then every time postponed. I was never kept abreast of when what will happen unless I’ve asked. I’ve requested a reimbur*****t in April 2022 already. I insist on an immediate refund. Kindly provide the details of your CEO so that I can take this issue up with him/her. I have NEVER received such poor service from ANY supplier I’ve dealt with!
I’ve dealt with Bronwyn Pop (Customer Excellence Supervisor) and Pearlson Chego (Customer Excellence Representative). I have repeatedly asked for a reimbur*****t or for the case to be escalated but to no avail (I do have all the relevant correspondence). It is 1 September 2022 and still nothing from them!
Kindly have a look at Hellopeter.com reviews on Merck. I would close shop if I was you!!”
Merck never replied to either me nor Hellopeter.com
14 October 2022: I’ve published the following on Hellopeter.com and sent it to your Headquarters in Germany:
“I had the worst experience with Merck Group RSA, I ever had with ANY company locally or internationally. In short, they insisted on advanced payment for a product that they normally stock but was out of stock at the time - November 2021. Over the following 3 months and many followups from my side they only replied by saying they are still waiting for the product to arrive in RSA. Ironically, I dealt with an ‘Customer Excellence Representative’ and ‘Customer Excellence Supervisor’ - what a joke! They blatantly refused to escalate the matter upon numerous requests. In February 2022 I requested the cancellation of the order and a refund. Again after many followups no progress was made. I informed them that I plan to take matters further. On 20 August 2022, I wrote a review on Hellopeter.com (I copied Merck on it). I also contacted Merck headquarters in the USA to report the matter. They just replied just by saying they are not responsible for the product. Important to note that from November 2021 until now (October 2022) they NEVER proactively kept me In the loop! To date I haven’t received the product nor a refund or any further correspondence from Merck (apparently they also haven’t replied to my Hellopeter.com review either). I have all the correspondence to substantiate the above. I honestly don’t know what further to do but to charge them with theft. Please don’t support Merck/ Sigma unless you have to! If there was a rating lower than 1 star I would have given them -5!!!”
