I bought an AENO blender from Metro and was misled by the advertising — it does not perform as promised (can’t blend dates properly, soup-making and self-cleaning functions ineffective). When I returned it within 7 days, I was refused an exchange/refund even though the Consumer Protection Act clearly allows it.
I have formally reported Metro to the National Consumer Commission (complaints@thencc.org.za) and Gauteng Consumer Affairs (consumer@gauteng.gov.za). I strongly encourage other consumers facing similar treatment to do the same. Metro does not respond to complaints on HelloPeter, which speaks volumes. Consumers deserve accountability.
