I had high expectations for Milkwood Manor Hotel, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of what a 4-star establishment should offer. Firstly, the restaurant was inexplicably closed during my stay. A key reason for choosing a hotel with a restaurant is the convenience of dining on-site. The lack of this essential service was not communicated beforehand, which left me scrambling for alternatives. Secondly, the room lacked basic amenities. There were not enough towels provided, which is an inexcusable oversight for a supposedly premium hotel. Guests shouldn’t have to request something as standard as towels – these should be readily available. On top of this, there was virtually no service to speak of. Staff were unhelpful and seemed indifferent to guests' needs. Simple requests went unanswered, and there was a general lack of attentiveness throughout my stay. While the property itself may look appealing at first glance, the poor management and lack of services significantly diminish its value. Milkwood Manor is far from deserving of its 4-star rating, and I cannot recommend it to anyone expecting even a basic level of comfort and service.

Worst experience ever! Due to unforeseen circumstances, we could not make your fully paid booking at Milkwood Manor. We asked for the booking to be postponed to coincide with other bookings we also made in that area. Only after the very unprofessional and insensitive treatment from the reservations Alicia Bagly and having provided the death certificate of the family member did they agree to move the booking. We were forced to choose an alternative date that did not coincide with our other bookings. This fact would have cost us to make travel arrangements from Joburg for two trips. With the increase in fuel, this would not have been affordable for us. We opted to then give this to someone that stayed in the area. unfortunately, their car broke down on their way to Milkwood on a Sunday after hours. They were thus also unable to make the trip. We had no sympathy from Milkwood in either situation and have lost the money we had paid. This entire experience over the past few months dealing with the reservationist has been unpleasant. We would not recommend Milkwood to anyone. They are expensive and unaccommodating and when it comes to sensitive family matters they are highly unprofessional and insensitive.

I WAS ADVISED THAT THE REFUND VCANNOT BE DONE TODAY AS THE INCOMPETENT NO SHOW STAFF IS NOT IN AT WORK SO I MUST WAIT ON THEM. I BOOKED ACCOMODATION VIA [URL Removed] FOR PLETTENBERG BAY. ON THE MORNING OF OUR DEPARTURE WE WERE TOLD BY MILKWOOD MANOR ON SEA THEY MADE A DOUBLE BOOKING FOR THE ROOM TYPE WE BOOKED, WHICH THEY TOOK FULL PAYMENT FOR IN AUGUST OF THIS YEAR FOR DECEMBER BOOKING, AND WE WILL NO LONGER BE STAYING IN SEA FACING ROOMS BUT WILL NOW BE STAYING IN INLAND AND LAGOON FACING ROOMS. EVEN THOUGH THE AMOUNT TAKEN OFF MY CREDIT CARD IN AUGUST WERE FOR SEAFACING ROOMS, WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER I WAS TOLD THE OWNER IS RUNNING ERRANTS TWO HOURS LATER WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER I WAS TOLD THE OWNER HAS CANCER AND CAN'T SPEAK TO ME, BUT SAID THEY WILL REFUND US THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SEAFACING ROOMS AND THE ROOMS THEY NOW HAVE AVAILBALE AS WELL AS GIVE US A VOUCHER OF R1,000 FOR DINNER. I THEN DECIDED TO FIND ALERNATIVE ACCOMODATION AND HAD TO PAY AGAIN FOR ACCOMODATION. MILKWOOD MANOR ONLY REFUNDED ME 5 DAYS LATER.
