One thing that personally ticks me off big time is poor service. This will be the downfall of a well-running hotel if it doesn't get looked into. A few things need repairing. Please look into the 007 air conditioners and the privacy. When I'm in the jacuzzi, public watchers make it very uncomfortable through the glass. The living room is extremely hot; there's no air conditioning. The beach unit has the best air conditioning throughout the two bedrooms to the living room. Porters are amazing—10 out of 10 for them, and the reception staff as well. The one or two reception ladies I encountered during my week-long stay need to learn who to mess with and who not to. If my check-in was inconvenient, why make check-out one as well? The place was tidy at check-out. Not even both rooms were used. There was hardly anything to clean but one towel! I have stayed in many hotels, and not even Michelangelo has ever in three years charged me for towels with makeup on them. Just wash them; they are not damaged! Work on the attitudes of the one or two reception ladies who clearly barked up the wrong tree for me to consider coming back.

I arrived there 10 October 2025 I booked for two nights for my husband's birthday. I really like the place it's beautiful and the swimming area is MINT ... Butttttt !!!!! Me and my husband and my 3 year old son went to bed and tried to sleep but we struggled to, the beds are horrible you toss and turn the whole night even my 3 year old son could get sleep. Me and my husband woke up with very bad back pain ,So we went for breakfast and after that I walked to the reception and asked what else can they do to make our stay better the guy at the reception told us all the beds are the same, then I asked may I please have a refund for the second night because we wont be sleeping there the guy said no unfortunately there is no refund, I think that is very bad for just keeping my money. Its a hotel in sandton but the beds are horrible horrible horrible!!!

I arrived there 10 October 2025 I booked for two nights for my husband's birthday. I really like the place it's beautiful and the swimming area is MINT ... Butttttt !!!!! Booked the Mint hotel for me and my partner for her birthday after a long day. To our surprise while walking to our room we were informed that our place was way at the back of the place. My partner struggled as she has a very bad hip. She was born with her hip disslocated. This was communicated and we told them we could not stay here due to this. They gave us no choice but to leave and lose the payment made.

I made a booking online and paid R4290 for a night of 4 people with breakfast and dinner. I booked a family room. And to my surprise I was told it doesn't show in their system that meals is included and when I get to the property I was also told that the jacuzzi is not working and I'll be compensated for a breakfast, I was so disappointed. I didn't know what to do but to agree. Basically I was ****med by Mint hotel 84 on Katherine Sandton.

If there was a way to leave a zero (0) rating, I would. This was the most ********** stay we've ever had at a "hotel". I regretted every moment of the 2 nights we had booked at this place. The bedding was absolutely dirty, the small shower with cold water, the unfriendly staff, the noise? What a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE place. The room we had booked was a superior room and the only superiority was the bare minimum, the subpar standard of uncleanliness, with stale air in the room. This is basically a guesthouse that went to a private school and I would never recommend anyone book at this place. We tried to get them to make amends after the 1st night and the manager told us through their unreasonable staff, Ntokozo that we should have complained on arrival. The long of short is, stay away from this ridiculous place.

Our room was looking good i can say 6/10 The water in a shower was always warm not hot at all, i really dont like cold shower Then there is pablo restaurant, their food was awful the service is poor, however i enjoyed their beetroot juice 👌👌👌 WE ARE NOT GOING BACK TO THAT HOTEL 🤷♀️and swimming pool is small, it was always crowded

Our room was looking good i can say 6/10 The water in a shower was always warm not hot at all, i really dont like cold shower Then there is pablo restaurant, their food was awful the service is poor, however i enjoyed their beetroot juice 👌👌👌 WE ARE NOT GOING BACK TO THAT HOTEL 🤷♀️and swimming pool is small, it was always crowded

I’ve stayed here 3 times and honestly it’s cheap, covers all the basics and the best part of it is the Pablo restaurant downstairs! Whatever staff was working over night on the 22 July 2022 was completely inappropriate. 1. The big, tall, light brown security guard followed us to the room, not sure if that normal but weird then apparently conversation wasn’t allowed in the parking lot, I proceeded to tell him I’m walking to my room. The he did the most when he followed us to the room also and knocked 5mins after we arrived to tell us we can’t talk after midnight. Bull****? 2. That receptionist completely ignored me and I had to yell at him to get my refund. Still bull****? I’m not coming back and I’m disappointed. southern sun accommodated me seamlessly and I’m good

I was traveling to Johannesburg for work and stayed at Mint Hotel in Sandton. Nice looking place, its new but I would never go back there again. I was with my lady, she was also in for business but she got there to check in for us before I did because her meetings finished earlier and I was going to arrive late. At some stage someone simply walked into the room and walked out (one of the female security guards). Turns out they put us in a room that staff stays in and security wasn't aware there was a booking for that room. It made sense to me later when I recall her saying I couldn't possibly be booked into the room I said we had already checked into because that belongs to a certain Lerato, who the security guard subsequently walked into the room looking for according to my lady. It seems security went looking for this Lerato who was meant to help me check in ironically, and when she went into the room using her master key she saw that it was dark and thought that this Lerato had probably stepped out. Only then did the security guard finally say I could go to the room we booked on condition she takes me there to make sure I dont walk in on Lerato in her room. Call it a safety measure, I dont know. It turns out that what actually happened is that my lady saw that someone was coming into the room but she was already half asleep and thought it was me who came in and out of the room. Imagine her surprise when I said it wasn't me. I asked reception to look into the matter. Still waiting. Then there was the fire alarm at 3am that went on for ages. Not sure where that came from but it sure took a good 30min for them to eventually turn it off. Must have been by the lobby. Just when I thought it couldnt get any worse, we asked reception for some info on the restaurant opening up in the future at the hotel and although he didn't know anything at that time, he was more than happy to ask for my Lady's number to "tell her when there is information". As you can imagine, that's three strikes and I certainly wont be going back. I also strongly recommend you seek accommodation elsewhere if booking in the area if you are reading this. They're unprofessional, the place seems to be run by clowns and inappropriate people.
