We are extremely upset with the service we have received from MCR. My wife is the one struggling with this situation while I am outside of South Africa, and we have three kids who need to get to school every day.
She was forced to rent a car because ours has been delayed far longer than promised. Originally, the rental was meant for just five days, but it has now already been 12 days, and by the end of the weekend it will be 15 days. This is completely unacceptable. She cannot keep extending the rental, and without it she will have no transport for the children.
What makes it worse is the complete lack of communication from MCR. We were promised deadlines multiple times, only to find out—after we had to chase them—that there were problems with the insurance approvals, the part ordering, and even power and generator issues. At no point did they take the responsibility to keep us properly informed.
Because of this poor service, the rental costs are now almost the same as if we had just paid cash to fix the car directly—essentially costing us double. This is not only frustrating, but highly unprofessional.
We expected honesty, communication, and accountability. Instead, this experience has been stressful and financially damaging for our family.
