Beware of Modulus Civils construction!
I would like to warn the public against this construction company located in Kameeldrift East in Pretoria. It is with great regret that I have decided to appoint the owner Jaco Bouwer to come and build a house for my family here in George. Jaco was very eager in coming to build for us at a good rate, for which we were of course very grateful for. But the gratitude quickly turned to disappointment when the project continued to be delayed after all approvals were in place. His contract stipulated that he would start construction 5 working days after municipal approval of the plans. It never materialized. He continued to place blame on people and activities beyond his control. But now that I look back, it was all in his own hands and came from a guy who was very desperate for cashflow. When the construction no longer happened, he then promised to repay all our money, and this did not happen after many attempts to return only a portion of the funds to us from March 2023. He said he would return everything before January 2024, and after he knew how desperate we were he just flat out ignored our request and his promise to do so. He put us in a very inconvenient, difficult position which caused many repercussions. Too many to mention here.. If you ever consider or know of someone who is considering using the man for any job, turn around and run away. I don't know if we are going to get the money back, but we are certainly not going to leave it there. We just don't want anyone else to go through the disappointment we are still going through.
