I have never felt so singled out and disrespected at a movie theatre. My partner and I were flatly refused entry with food we had purchased from the food court — by both the manager and a woman named Ntokozo, who was checking tickets. Their reasoning? “No outside food allowed.” Fine, if that rule was actually enforced consistently. But guess what? While we were being stopped, other people were literally walking past us with Nando’s and Debonairs boxes in plain sight. We weren’t asking for special treatment — we were asking for equal treatment. So why were we the only ones denied? That’s the real question. Was it because we’re a ***** couple? Was it because of race? The double standards were painfully obvious, and the experience was humiliating. Ntokozo and the manager seemed completely unbothered by our concerns and brushed us off with dismissive attitudes, the manager in particular oozing arrogance while clearly ignoring the very people behind him openly carrying “outside” food. It’s the inconsistency and discriminatory behavior that makes this place a hard NO for me. Unless you enjoy being treated unfairly and spoken to like a nuisance, I suggest you steer clear of Movies@ Montecasino. Absolutely not worth your time or money!!
