Our experience with Mosaic Family Group – Germiston Branch was deeply disappointing and emotionally distressing during one of the most difficult times in our lives the passing of our beloved grandfather.
From start to finish, the service we received was unacceptable. Here’s what went wrong:
1. Unnecessary Delays with Funds: We were given a hard time accessing the funeral funds, despite the fact that our account was fully paid and up to date. The way we were treated made us feel like we owed them something, which was both unfair and insulting.
2. Late Arrival of the Body – Without Notice: The body was delivered late, and what made matters worse was that we were not informed at all. This caused confusion and distress, as we had already made arrangements and gathered people. A simple phone call could have avoided this emotional trauma.
3. Funeral Obituary Full of Mistakes: The funeral program were late and filled with errors — even though we had called ahead to correct them. They clearly didn’t care to fix anything, and what should have been a respectful tribute turned into an embarrassing disappointment.
4. Rude and Unprofessional Staff: The staff were unhelpful, cold, and outright rude. We were told to “wait” with no explanation, and when we tried to follow up, the receptionist hung up the phone on us. This level of disrespect is unacceptable in any service industry, especially a funeral home.
