I purchased a vehicle from Ford Mossel Bay 11 months ago, and only recently discovered — during a warranty claim submitted by Ford George — that the catalytic converter had been removed and replaced with a straight pipe. This major modification was never disclosed at the time of sale. The warranty claim for a whining turbo was rejected solely due to this modification, and I’ve been left to cover a large repair bill entirely out of pocket. The vehicle now has no warranty, reduced resale value, and potential insurance complications. I would never have purchased this vehicle if the modification had been disclosed. What’s worse is how this passed their so-called inspection. The CAT removal is visibly obvious — yet it was missed. And shortly after purchase, my insurance inspection failed the vehicle due to the severely worn, unroadworthy tyres it was sold with. How did this vehicle pass their checks if such basic safety issues weren’t even caught? The dealership claims they were unaware of the modification and offered to “assist” by installing a second-hand reconditioned turbo, at my expense, including labour. They also suggested I tow the stripped vehicle back to them for repairs — without accepting responsibility for any damage or risk involved. It’s clear the dealership is trying to resolve the matter at minimum cost to themselves, while placing all consequences on me. There has been no real accountability for selling a vehicle that should never have passed inspection. Their approach is simply unacceptable. I’ve exhausted all attempts to resolve this and have escalated the issue to the Motor Industry Ombudsman. Please be cautious. Ask the hard questions. Demand inspection records. Don’t assume any dealership — even with a trusted name — is acting in your best interest. #FordMosselBay #ConsumerRights #VehicleIssues #BuyerBeware #OmbudsmanComplaint #SouthAfrica

I recently took my Ranger in for a service. Before the service I asked that they replace the wiper blades as well what they did. However after two from the service I used the wiper blades and notice that the one blade is not cleaning properly. I inpect the blade and notice a small damaged area on it. I visited them again and asked for a replacement since it was only fitted two days ago. I was informed that I need to book an appointment again, bring my vehicle in again because the need to fill in a claim form for replacement. This will cost me to drive 50km again and waist half a day only to replace a wiper blade. This is totally ridiculous. Still waiting now for two weeks that the manager call me.

Our vehicle broke down in a close by town. Firstly Ford suggested that there is a closer Ford dealer than they are which I find extremely thoughtful. We however chose to use Ford Mossel Bay as our service provider. Phillip, a technician came out to evaluate the problem and although it was after 17h00 he was in no rush to return to Mossel Bay. He took his time to assess the issue with the vehicle. Extremely professional. Thank you Phillip Tanya, the workshop manager and Wanda kept us up to date on a nearly daily basis regarding the progress on the vehicle. Thank you ever so much. It feels as if ALL PERSONNEL at FORD MOSSEL BAY walked the extra mile for customer satisfaction.

On 26/10/2022 just after 13h00 I went onto their website and sent them a request to quote for certain work giving all the details they need as well as my cars VIN number, as then they can get all the correct information for the particular car. Response was an email (No Reply) type stating that my request was forwarded to the correct department and that the team word contact me. Nothing. On 27-10-2022 at 13h51 I sent a second email, enquiring as to when I would be assisted. I again within minutes received an email response with the same details as above. 28-10-2022 Now 12h48 and I have had absolutely no response. Funny how you always hear about business being bad and would expect people to jump at any new business.

<div>I bought a Ford Transit 2 years ago, I was contacted by the owner of ford and VW Knysna I spoke to him today he said he is holding back transfer of my vehicle I have paid for this vehicle in full Over half a million rand. He is also not honoring the agreements made by his DP and his salespeople, that they made on his behalf, Piet kept their word and honored what they negotiated. And now that they are not with him anymore he is not honoring their commitments. I have all communications on whats-app with salespersons and DP. Paid all monies in good faith upfront.</div>

I made an appointment with Mossel Bay Ford on 17 November 2021 for a job that according to them would take one hour. I arrived there on the said date and time and they confirmed that it would take an hour. After an hour I went back and they did nothing - my bakkie still there where I parked it. All of a sudden they're in the Bakkie and wanted to start the job. I didn't have another hour and took my Bakkie. This bad service was followed up with Mr Johan van Aardt which is some kind of manager in the workshop. Since 25 November he told me that he will follow up and organise with my local dealership to do the job. Despite several interactions in November/December 2021, till this day he couldn't get it right. So on 14 December 2021 I tried Mr Adrian London, the sales relations consultant. He replied that he contacted the Operations Manager as well as the Dealer Principle. This was on 17 December 2021 and till date there was only silence. I will not refer anybody to Mossel Bay Ford. I also wouldn't buy a Ford again, although I am satisfied with my bakkie. The service is just not up to standard and I would probably go back to the always reliable Toyota.
