I was filling petrol at Aston on the morning of 3rd December 2025 when my car, a 1.0 Ford Ecoboost Powershift, started overheating. I drove it to Motus Ford Germiston immediately and they advised that the Thermostat housing was compromised. I lodged a parts warranty claim with my Insurance Company and they requested documents which Motus Ford kept sending incorrectly. For example, the insurance company requested a Failure Report and Motus Ford just added the root cause on the job card and after much to and fro, paperwork was submitted correctly by Motus Ford and the claim was approved. This process took three weeks. Motus Ford fitted the part and I went in to collect my vehicle in late December 2025 but once fitted, there was a flow of white smoke from the exhaust and Motus Ford said that the possible cause was that the Cylinder Head was cracked or the Cylinder head gasket was gone. The car passed the compression in December 2025 after fitment of the Thermostat housing and the technician advised that it must be the gasket because the car would not have passed the compression test if the cylinder head was cracked. A second claim was lodged with my insurance company for approval to strip the vehicle and remove the cylinder head and take to the local engineer to test for cracks. There was another lengthy period for paperwork to be submitted which took two months to resolve and get approval. The engineer report informed that the cylinder head was cracked. The claim was resubmitted for a third time to include the cylinder head in mid February 2026. On 8th March 2026, I received an email from Motus Ford that my car will be ready that same day for collection. On the evening of the 8th of March 2026, I received an email from Motus Ford, stating that the car failed the quality test as gears were slipping during the second day test drive of the vehicle on the 10th of March 2026. Motus Ford Germiston are now stating that the clutch kit has to be replaced. I called my Insurance Dial Direct and I told them about this new claim that Motus Ford Germiston was stating was another problem. They advised that I should go to the Dealership and test drive the vehicle myself and request to see the parts because I told them that I suspected that Motus Ford Dealership was trying to ****** against my parts warranty Policy. When I went to the Dealership at 1pm on 10 March 2026, my vehicle was hoisted up in the air so I could not test drive it. I asked for my parts that was removed from my vehicle and it took them time to get it together and the parts they showed me was not from my vehicle because the coolant bottle that they showed me was dented and I had replaced mine very recently and it was new. Motus Ford Germiston is giving Ford South Africa a very bad name and I would like Ford South Africa to come in and assist me to resolve this matter.
