MyGym (Greenstone): DO NOT REGISTER WITH "MyGYM" in Greenstone (Joburg). Everything is PATHETIC!!! I joined the so called MyGym in Greenstone (Joburg) in October last year. 1. There is no service whatsoever. 2. 90% of the Equipment doesn't work properly and very old. 3. Most of their Clients are so dodgy and can't be trusted. 4. The stuff members even smoke just by the doors and the whole gym will smell of smoke while Clients are training inside. My Contract was month to month with them and every time the month ends, they will block me from entering the Gym and I would pay. Then I stopped going there and told them I won't be going there anymore.... But they have the nerve to send me Invoices every month (4 months after I left). And also, sending me threatening emails about Debt Collectors. I never even signed a Contract with them, all I was told was that it was a month-to-month Contract and I can Gym. That's the only reason I joined them... PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER USING THEIR SERVICES....

After a month's notice and cancellation with account in order, Mygym contacts you to settle "bad debt" four years later. When phoning to sort out the problem they do not answer their phones. Either their systems are flawed or they have an incompetent accounts management department.

I definitely not recommend them, you'll regret the day you do..... rather spend tiny bit extra and go to Virginia active over the road, or there are number of amazing private gyms close by. They do not adhere to there terms and cancelation of a "month to month" contract, you'll struggle to get out of it. They are extremely hostile & unfriendly & do not know how to deal with customers.... somehow they feel they are superior. They will even go as far as illegal trying to list you for something you do not have or owe and want nothing to do with. Furthermore, large majority of the reviews on facebook & and social that are direct in the public eye are friends, family and people that either work or have worked there.... they will deny it flat even when its obvious & can be proven. I will be taking this further to let customers know the pitfalls of joining this attrotious gym! Also will be seeing what i can do to let various covid councils know they did not abide during lockdown & doubt they follow correct protocols either, with lot of damaged unsanitary equipment (ripped and im sure riddled with germs in the ripped sponge) They will actually even go as far as to try insult you from spelling to deformation on the responses to bad reviews "pretending to be another customer " when actually its friends, family & work colleages

my experience with my-gym. when i joined my gym i explained to them that i am working in a construction company and sometimes i work on site maybe six to a year and we agree on a no contract agreement . ok i was surprise when the guy asked for my banking details and i asked him and the lady who is a manager there at Greenstone and they told me not worry for all they are doing is that they are only following procedure which will have no effect on the near future. even when i was given the form to sign i saw the agreement that they will deduct money every month and i again asked them what was the meaning of the form they again told me not worry about it and they assured me that every thing is gonna be the way i asked them to be i was with my son that day and indeed i needed the contract that now they have bind me in it i think there is footage where we can hear our conversation of that day and what i told them i really want. i was with them for that October only i was sent to work on site. to my surprise i started receiving many calls claiming that i owe my gym and i then went to Greenstone where i met the manager who was a lady there and black like me who together with the receptionist tall and light in colour i mean the receptionist at that time and they politely told me that they will speak with the guy to rectify the mistake and they assured me that it shall be done as agreed. but still i was receiving emails and calls from their lawyers demanding money from me even today the 17 September 2018 i got emails from a company ECCM Larische De Jager demanding money from me and when i tried to tell them my story they told me to read terms and condition of the contract. But really is this fraud or what why are they doing this. Pls HelloPeter help me

I agree with the other reviews regarding their accounts. Don't be fooled by the "Month-to-month/no contract" LIE they sell people! I received NO emails/calls or any sort of notification after I left the gym that I STILL had to pay my gym fee. After following up with the RUDE and IGNORANT staff who had no interest in helping me sort out the situation I decided to warn people before they make the same mistake. Now they are taking my money even though I didn't use their service for almost a YEAR! Thank you Kelvin Smit and co staff for you TERRIBLE service! It wasn't made clear that I had to cancel the gym contract, I also didn't receive ANY form of notifications.

No really sure how to deal with this useless company. Website failed when i was signing up so I received 2 debit setup notices. Does this mean I'm going to be double debitted? who knows.... no one can tell me. Called and got redirected because everyone is of no help. Sent a mail, and they just planly ignore it. What is my next move? Other than the expense of being double debitted and then the cost of a reversal....great... (sarcasm btw) It is for ref PF ********** btw... logged a week ago.

On Thursday 26 October 2017 I was at mygym wanting to use the Smith Machine. Two other members had been occupying the machine for at least 15 minutes. When I asked them how many sets they had left I was told 16! I asked a staff member if this was allowed and when he requested for these two members to move on to give others a chance they told him they now had 24 sets left. Later I asked these two members how many sets they now had left and they told me "we would talk about it later" - which was clearly meant as a threat. I took a photo of the two members and posted it on their Facebook page. It was removed and I again reported this whole incident and mygym has decided to do absolutely nothing about it.
