Expensive jeans that don't even last a year
I bought a pair of jeans from Nicci Boutique for R1800. In less than six months (and limited wear) the fabric was so stretched/puckered I couldn't wear the jeans any more as they looked old. I couldn't find the receipt til now- 10 months after purchase. While the Canal Walk store people seemed to understand why I was returning them, Head Office has reported back through them that jeans are expected to pucker after 10 months and I should try tumble drying them (I don't own a tumber drier but I can only imagine that would make the puckering worse). So Nicci Boutique don't expect a pair of their R1800 jeans to be wearable even 10 months later.

We are so surprised to hear this due to this item being a tried and tested basic, Our Italian denim range is one of our best selling ranges. We have not had any returns or issues regarding these despite them being a staple at Nicci for many years. The Italian supplier is a denim specialist.
We suggest you wash the jeans as denim does stretch being a cotton fabric.

09 Mar 2023, 11:42Thank you for your response. If you read the previous reviews here on hellopeter you will see that at least one other person complained about denim and that you yourselves indicated to them in an email that a number of customers had complained.
This 'stretching' is not the usual denim stretching after being worn and then fitting better after a wash, this is more like puckering from the elastic in it going. As the jeans are currently at your head office you can look at it yourself.
I purchased three pairs of jeans on the same day, including the pair from your shop. One of the other pairs was from Edgars and is the Aca Joe brand. It cost me R350. I have worn them extensively in the past 10 months (easily once a week) and have not washed/treated them differently to those purchased from your shop, yet there is no puckering present on these jeans.
Washing them is not going to fix the problem. A refund or at the very least a voucher for the full amount would help.
