****** TWICE IN DAY!!!. So we were ****** in our house while we slept last night. Watches, all our sneakers and my phone taken from next to bed where i was sleeping. So being South African no biggie, cops, HOA, cctv video footage now sorted, i decided to go off to VODACOM to buy a new phone. I need to be connected. VODACOM then sell a "new phone". When asking the woman now quickly putting the cover and screen saver on where the outer plastic for the box was the lying btchb reaches into the bin and waves plastic at me. Anyway got the phone. R15500 later. Went to have a coffee and then realise this phone isn't new. It's second hand stock and that the salesman, manager and screen wrapper woman were in cohorts to palm it off on me. *****s. They later admitted they "were supposed to tell me it was an old stock item" but conveniently never did. So VODACOM are happy to de***** after just come out of a traumatic home invasion. What kind of sic people or companies like VODACOM would do that to a human being. WTAF. Perhaps I'm being over sensitive but being ******, conned or ****** from twice in day and by a VODACOM store nonetheless seems a little fu**cked up. My advice is lock up, be vigilant and never shop at a VODACOM store specifically NORTHGATE. They are 100% knowingly, intentionally and willingly a bunch of ****s and *****s. And when you confront as *****s VODACOM then offer you the option of a refund in 7 to 10 day. VODACOM will knowingly and blatantly look you in the eye and lie to your face. Then when caught at their own BS propose a refund because in truth they never even had the phone in stock that i was buying. It was easier to de***** me. After being early hours of this morning. VODACOM you are truly pathetic. I will be taking this further.

No accountability, no transparency on their contracts, billing not consistent, different information from their *********** staff.

I had a terrible experience at the Engen Northgate Convenience Centre on 9th February 2025. After filling up with petrol and forgetting to pay for an additional R100 worth of fuel, we were treated extremely poorly. Despite being regular customers and willing to settle the amount immediately, the staff and owner were unreasonably harsh. They called security and the police, causing unnecessary distress. The owner even threatened us with arrest unless we paid R500, which we didn’t have. This kind of treatment towards loyal customers is unacceptable. I would not recommend this garage to anyone.

We app**** for be a vendor at their event, advertised to be exciting and vibrant. We were promised the following; The Northgate Road Race has a rich legacy spanning nearly three decades, attracting a vibrant and engaged community of over 1,200 participants, along with their families and friends. It presents a unique opportunity for vendors like yourself to connect with this dynamic audience in a memorable way. We were excited, and we agreed to pay R1725 to be a vendor. We understand no one knows what can happen and it's a gamble being a vendor. But to charge R1725 for a parking lot stand is unacceptable. There were no where near the amount of people promised, not anything exciting to keep the runners around. They ran the race and left immediately. The organisers had realised once we had told the the stall fees were extremely high, and they offered to reimburse us. Till today we have not received a cent. I would never do a market at the Northgate shopping centre ever again. Future vendors just be aware.

Good Day I bought couches cash from Rochester in November 2023 on the Black Friday Specials that they had. They were delivered on the 15th of December as arranged, the driver who did the delivery notified me that he had never done such an assembling of the couches and does not even have the correct tools as he was not notified by their Warehouse even though it was a service I had paid for with my purchase. He attempted with my pair of scissors and only managed to assemble few legs on the couch and advised that the Warehouse or the store will dispatch him again as that is usually the norm when there's an unfinished job. I advised him that I'll be going home so their turnaround time is very limited. I refused to sign the delivery note seeing that the job was half done, but the driver advised that he then can't leave the couches behind if I don't sign as that is the only proof he has that I have received the item and has nothing with them not fully assembling the couch. I then signed the delivery page that was handed to me. I left Joburg 2 days later only to come back mid January 2024, I started noticing the misalignment on the couches which was due to the unfinished assembling. As time went by it became much more visible with a squeaky sound whenever someone sat on them, which I strongly believe it's because of the unfinished assembling. I unfortunately couldn't go to the store to report the issue as I was in and out of Dr's and hospital due to my high risk pregnancy and heading to my last trimester at the time. I was eventually discharged and tried to recover so I can visit the store where I had bought the item. I logged a complaint around the 22nd of February 2024 which I was advised that their turnaround would be around 14 working days for the entire process or query to be resolved. They were collected from me on the 4th of March and it's been a back and forth process since, that pair is under a 12 months warranty and by the sound of it Rochester is not planning or fixing them nor give me a refund. At this point I only want a new pair or my money back so that i can go and purchase a set of couches from a store that understands what customer service is. In this whole experience the branch manager has never not even once attempted to intervene, I've requested to talk to him or a call back as advised by their Complaints Department but to no success. His service is as pathetic as that of their Warehouse, I can only wonder if I was of a different ethnic group would he have treated the matter the same? His service is atrocious to say the least, I regret the day I walked into his store.

Well if you looking for a sell under the table, ask for Gift. Hell buy any laptop or mobile phone "under the table". Meets you in the public toilet and presto you walk away with cash. Apparently more than the store would have paid.
