We experienced a lot of trauma from this school's foundation phase (Grade R). The school sells itself as one that will be able to cater to kids that need a little extra attention but in truth, they cannot. In our case, I felt the school (principal and teacher) lacked patience with my son. They called us with complaints on the 1st day of him attending the school, did not even give him a period of adjusting. After that, it was calls everyday till we decided to give my son a break from them. We tried to come up with solutions to assist my son in class but they were not willing to try and made us feel that we weren't doing enough. They even wanted to issue him with a warning. Who gives a 5 year old, a written warning? That is when we decided to take him out of the school. We have found him another school and he is thriving. He loves it. This is why I decided to write this review. I dont think they realised how much being told that there is something wrong at school traumatises a parent and a child. I cannot emphasise enough how much they lack patience. To a point, I felt they had an agenda to make him leave the school because my son is so well behaved in his new school.
I will not fault Northriding College academically, they have a good curriculum. I was happy with my son's school work but the environment was just not good for him and us.
