I placed a custom order with Oh My Cake on 25 March 2026 for a Fortnite-themed birthday cake, clearly communicating that it was needed for 27 March. I only received a response on 26 March and was told that if I wanted it in time, I needed to pay additional delivery and express fees. I agreed and paid based on their assurance that the cake would be delivered on Friday.
That delivery never happened.
On the morning of the birthday (Saturday), I had to go to the store in person to follow up on the order. Staff initially could not locate my order at all and seemed disorganized. Eventually, they acknowledged seeing a Fortnite cake but confirmed it had not been delivered as promised.
Despite failing to deliver the service I paid extra for, the delivery and express fees were not proactively refunded. I had to follow up myself, submit banking details and proof of payment, and then received no further communication—complete radio silence.
The cake itself looked great and worked well for photos, and the kids enjoyed it. However, the taste was average at best, especially considering the total cost of around R1600.
This is the issue: You cannot charge premium fees for time-sensitive delivery and then fail to deliver on that promise without accountability or communication.
If you are considering Oh My Cake: • Good for aesthetics and themed visuals • Unreliable on timelines • Weak post-service customer support
At this price point, reliability and service matter just as much as appearance.
I am still waiting for a resolution on the undelivered services.
