I dropped in at the Botrivier Ou Meul. R53 for a take away pie, that doesn't taste like it use to, and a take away cool drink at double the price than elsewhere, is a farce!. A take away coffee in a paper cup, R47??. Who are you trying to fool, but the tourists!.A total *******!!. To Sharnelle, the Operations Manager, you didn't keep your promise, as it is clear to see that there has been NO improvement since I've been there last. You don't get away with it by doing nothing when a customer lodges a complaint. You fool no one, but yourself and the reputation of the shop, franchise and name. You, of all people should no that it would backfire on you. There's no management on sight, ill mannered staff. Only the employee, a young man, serving the pies behind the counter, was friendly, and patient, courteous is the word. They should learn from him. The rest of the staff have no good manner, irritable, common, NO customer skills!. Did management take them from the highway?. The place is just a chaotic mess!. Ou Meul has gone down.

We had a bad experience at Ou Meul in Riversdale, Western Cape, South Africa. The coffee was fine, the tea OK, hot chocolate OK. Prices expensive. I had a chicken curry, luke warm, the sauce tasted as if it had come from a bottle and the flatbread was indigestible. My daughter's pie, spinach and feta, was far too salty, the gravy, that came in a separate bowl, was a congealed blob. Again - expensive. The final blow was a crunchie biscuit I bought to take away. I discovered that this was so stale it was inedible. What a shame as the staff were terrific. Pity they had to serve such horrible food.

Willow Bridge. They gave my 3 year old a baby chino that were so hot she burned her mouth. Screamed for 10 mins and not we sitting with blisters in her mouth. a Baby chino is for kids. Its the top part of the foam with some powder. Not super hot milk. We've been ordering over 40 baby chinos at different shops and never we had one like this. When they made the baby chino (which were on the system) they talked to each other as they did not know how to make it.

I am absolutely disgusted by the blatantly dishonest behaviour I experienced at Ou Meul Bakery in Windmeul, Wellington. On a bill of R600 for groceries, a "tip" of R100.05 was added without my consent. A TIP? For WHAT exactly? This was a straightforward grocery transaction! The audacity of the staff to assume we wouldn’t notice this underhanded **** is beyond belief. Clearly, they thought we were tourists—an easy mark for their ongoing deception. Well, newsflash: we are South Africans, and we immediately spotted this disgusting behaviour! How many unsuspecting customers have they fleeced before us? This reeks of a **** that has been shamelessly run against countless others. The lies and excuses from the staff when confronted were nothing short of outrageous. This kind of behaviour is an insult to every honest business in this country and makes a mockery of customer trust. To prey on people like this is utterly disgraceful. Let me make it clear: I will not let this go. I am taking my complaint to the highest authorities, and I will ensure that this brand's dishonest practices are exposed for what they are. This is not just about R100—it’s about integrity, transparency, and the trust customers place in businesses. People deserve to know the truth about what’s happening here. I demand an immediate explanation and a formal apology. Your reputation is now on the line, and I will make it my mission to see that others are warned about this appalling ****. Shame on you, Ou Meul Bakery.
