No Correspondence - Account Handed Over

We had an unpaid account with Ampath, which was handed over to Lexmed. I do not believe this account should have been handed over as we NO CORRESPONDENCE advising us that it was outstanding. I have asked Lexmed and Pansegrouw attorneys to send me proof of delivery of statements and no one has bothered. Very unprofessional. It is not fair that we now have a tarnished name due to someones negligence. A simple apology would have sufficed, although I do feel that the legal fees should be refunded to us.
