Its time we call out recruiters and recruitment companies who snub candidates.
For too long, candidates have been quietly accepting no responses, limp excuses and inadequate feedback.
If we don't meet the criteria, let us know. If the position is on hold, LET US KNOW! If you no longer feel like the candidate is the right fit, guess what we would appreciate? You letting us know.
I recently, (for more than a month) dealt with a particular recruiter, whom I'm giving the courtesy of not mentioning, who has not only snubbed my attempts for feedback but had to be reminded by her MD that they deal with people and their futures.
The fact that it took me reaching out to someone higher up, mind you just to get some mediocre feedback and vain promises, could not fill me with less hope for this company.
From the position is available and I'll have feedback within a week, to the hiring manager is on leave and will be back on the 5th of August, to no feedback for a week, to "we will help you find a different opportunity", to the position is on hold. A month after the position was removed from the actual companies hiring page.
Recruiters and the companies they work for should be ashamed. Jobs arn't scarce, but it's extremely difficult securing the right fit for both the candidate and the hiring company.
I commend their MD for being polite and pushing the recruiter for feedback, but this was such an unpleasant process that I could not recommend using peoplesolved to anyone.
