Inadequate arrangements lead to disappointing service
I chose PKM based on a recommendation from my agent. PKM made me pay an additional fee to assess the contents of my property, based on which they delivered a quote. I told the assessor that my previous removal company had used a team of 8 staff members over 2 days to pack up my 5 bedroom home. The assessor was insistent that they 'knew their work' and was experienced, and would easily pack up my home in a day. They sent 4 people to do so. I ended up packing most of the content of 3 rooms myself. To unpack (a service I had paid for) they sent 4 staff members again, which wasn't nearly enough. My 84 year old mom, my domestic worker, my sister's gardener and I, unpacked the majority of the boxes. There are still some boxes that are not unpacked. PKM also broke a milk jug, a vase, and an irreplacable serving bowl from a set I had inherited from my grandmother. Because they were in a hurry as they were understaffed, a lot of the content of my house was thrown into boxes willy-nilly, with little care for the condition of the items. The staff also removed a sliding door at my previous house so that they could move the furniture out more easily, and failed to replace the door, leaving me to arrange for repairs with the new owner of the house. I would not recommend PKM to anyone moving a house. They may be adequate for a business, but they don't have the capacity to deal with a larger property.

Your packing and moving were completed on February 26th–27th, with unpacking finalized on February 28th and March 1st. It’s concerning that your complaint was only raised 19 days later, rather than at the time of the move. We always encourage our clients to report any concerns immediately so we can address them promptly.
2. Space Limitations
One of the main challenges in your move was transitioning from a larger home to a smaller space. Our unpacking team noted that there was insufficient space for all your items, particularly your extensive book collection. Despite this, we provided an additional unpacking day at no extra charge to assist in organizing your belongings.
3. Breakages & Self-Packing
Your review suggests damages occurred, but it’s important to mention that you handled some of the packing and unpacking yourself. Without prior notification to PKM Transport’s management, it becomes difficult to determine accountability. Had these concerns been raised at the time, we would have immediately assessed and resolved them.
4. Sliding Door Installation
You mentioned an issue with reinstalling a sliding door. However, this would typically have been checked before our team left the premises. No report was made to us during or immediately after the move, making it difficult to address after the fact.
After thorough discussions with our packing, loading, and unpacking teams, we believe your claims do not fully reflect the situation. PKM Transport has successfully handled complex moves for over 30 years, and we take customer satisfaction seriously.
