We quoted on the remarble of his front yard swimming pool, removing tiles from the pool interior, seal and re-plaster. With that the usual sealing around the weir, jets and lights.
Also, the replaster and sealing of his Jacuzzi.
Mr. Berrington then lodged a complaint of a leaking pool. Our foreman went out to inspect and could not find anything. I left it there. I then received a letter from a layer to attend to the leak in the client's pool. I went out to inspect to find that there was a crack on the edge of the client's infinity edge reservoir.
We only quoted on sealing and remarble of the pool itself as there is glass panels that split the pool from the reservoir and then sealing around the weir Suction point, jets and light in the pool. All were done.
The guarantee is only a workmanship guarantee on work done.
The client however insisted that we repair the reservoir, therefore giving false information to his layers and now trying to get back to us by smearing our name.
At the last inspection and meeting i informed Mr. Berrington that this was not part of my quotation as he well new and said i would come back and insert a sealer into the pool as well as repair the crack even though it's not part of what i quoted on.
I however decided against it as the way Mr. Berrington handled the issue was completely out of line. There is no point in going back because there will just be something else to follow this.
The client did the same to a number of other contractors before me and will probably do the same to the next guy after me.
Mr. Berrington claims that I'm not answering my phone but have not received a SMS, what sup or an email either. Not sure how it's possible that none of these works.
Long story short. Our guarantee's cover only the work that we quoted on.
