Popcru union is failing to represent hundreds of workers discriminated against by employer country wide for years. All they know is deducting monthly premiums and distributing merchandise.

I assigned Popcru as my representative Union, I called in , then the agent said I must email the cancellation which I did twice already , one before July & another in July, I called the one agent said : "Popcru will still be deducting for 3 months after cancellation"...So according to me, October was suppose to be the last payment & that's not the case I then called again , spoke to another agent, the agent said : "Popcru will give me a call back & it never happen. It's now the new month of February, I called again & again & again & different agent including a lady by the name of "Millicent" keep transferring me to another line when the call rings & then switched off. I then called after a few mins again & it seems like my phone number has been blocked...

I was a member of this union for 34 jrs a police officer and never believed i would make use of them. They are part of the ANC party.During 2017 the police management started to take steps against me.The documents were forward to provincial offices mrs Chakale the secretary of the union.A police member named Sgt Booysens from welkom were instructed to handle the matter. He never pitched up.I knew the preceding officer and i represented myself.Found not guilty. The saps again charged me for an alledge offence from 2015.The very same Booysens were appointed and failed to represent me.I have all his watsups. The secretary just avoided the situation.??I was found guilty and dismissed during 2019.The union then filed papers for an unfair dispute. Up to date i travelled 10 times to Bloemfontein to attend a SSSBC sitting. For 2 yrs they were quiet, absoluut no progress any enquiry would fell on death ears.Is this how our laws and dedemocracy deals with white people.I should have expected joining a racial union. Can anyone give positive inputs. It seems the SSSBC are a dysfunctional organ.

Popcru always claim to be for its members which is not the case, in 2021 march I was called to come to popcru offices in Durban, when I arrived there I was told that due to non performance as committee we are dismissed or relieved from our duties, this was done without following due course. When local leaders asked question the then chairperson of the province Jeff Dladla said loud and clear that even though local reps denied the fact that we were not working but they "provincial leadership" don't need us. We wrote a letter to national office which there was no response until today. I write this review now noting that victimisation continues as I have been removed from all groups of the Union and further to that I was not invited to local congres. So I view this as pour victimisation and abuse of power by provincial leadership. I need answers of all matters above for advancing fair labour practice. Lindani Ntaka

Dear Sir/ Madam, My name is Sikhumbuzo Peter Dlamini (ID No. 840403597 9083). I was covered with Workerslife/ POPCRU 25 for the funeral policy with my extended family. My uncle (Jeremia Bhekuyise Mpanza: 520704 5662 083) passed away on 18 July 2021, I called POPCRU 25 to get information on how I claim and what to submit. I was sent an email on 19 July 2021 with a list on what was required. - Deceased id copy certified. - Claimants id copy certified. - Death certificate copy certified. - Claimants bank statement - BI 1663 (NOTIFICATION OF DEATH) I submitted everything on 21 July 2021 as listed above. I was called on Friday, 23 July 2021 to be informed that I need to visit the nearest offices because my claim cannot be processed. I buried my uncle on 25 July 2021. I went to the offices in Pretoria on 29 July 2021. I was informed that my claim was declined because I left the SAPS, my premiums were not paid for a few months, etc. My concerns are why POPCRU/ Workerslife continued to deduct premiums from my accounts if my policy had lapsed. I'm only told now that my claim will not be paid out. I need serious intervention in this. Thanks, SP Dlamini 067 946 7585 084 069 3100
