UPS Warning
POWERMAN, suppliers of UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) systems. Got a quote from this company for a specifiek UPS, including all services to be rendered with the unit. Once payment was made, the excuses started to flow. Bottom line - Their quotes and actions are allien to each other. I will NOT RECOMMEND this company for any of your UPS needs.

27 Jan 2022, 18:41This specific client purchased a plug in UPS to use with his own batteries. When we supply full systems we offer a full set-up of the unit as part of the deal, our salesman made an error on the quote and left in the full set-up offer which we normally do not do if we do not supply the batteries. This was pointed out to our GM when we just sent a driver to deliver the unit. We accepted the error on our part and offered to send a technician to install. Our service department was told to arrange the commissioning of the unit. As per our standard procedure a technician from our service department called the client to find out what was on site so that we could be prepared to do the work. During that conversation it became apparent that the client was happy to connect the batteries himself. Our technician explained how to connect the batteries to the UPS we had supplied, and then sent a simple hand drawn diagram. Initially the client struggled with the diagram but after a couple of hours managed to sort it out. My technician called back and the client said that the unit was working fine - no need for us to send another person out. On Monday 24th Jan the client sent us an email thanking Stephen (the technician) for helping him, he also had a query on the fan that was answered. On Wednesday 26th Jan the client completed the warranty form and sent it back to the salesman. Once we received the Warranty form, due to the initial problem and misunderstanding our GM instructed the salesman to clarify that the warranty only covers the PowerMan UPS and not the batteries. In the Email he also pointed out that as per the warranty form it is a carry in warranty (this is a very small UPS under 14Kg in weight). The client objected to this and says that he was not told about this at the time of purchase. The quote clearly states that "all sales are subject to our standard terms and conditions, a copy of which is available on request". This point is in those standard terms and conditions, however the client did not request the Terms and conditions. If the client is not happy with the unit or our service level he is welcome to return the unit in it's original packing and condition, and he will be refunded in full. He has never requested that we take the unit back.
