As an 81-year-old woman, I write as one who has been banking with Standard Bank longer than most of the young people now running the show have been alive. It is very disappointing how things are being run with my claim between three companies involved. There have been no issues with our insurance and no claims at all since December 2017 when I bought the car from my daughter. It is unfathomable why, when the damage is minor on the outside (on the driver’s side, the wheel, headlight and bumper, and water was running out the front, but nothing was mentioned about the engine, or under the hood of the car!) On 31 August a taxi, whose driver’s licence had expired, who “didn’t even see us”, rode into our old vehicle. The immediate impression when calling on 1 September to lodge the claim, is that nothing would be done about that situation, when the taxi driver clearly was at fault. My daughter was driving, and because we are both pensioners, our excess was waivered. We have since been disappointed in every way that the claim has been managed. 1. First of all, to be told to send photographs of every kind to be “assessed” – what kind of an assessment is that? It is unbelievable that a “Quotation” is assessed by a third party that needs to be paid from our insurance, for only looking at photographs!!! 2. Then we were told to bring the vehicle to Straight Through Procurement Solutions, Rivonia, which was already appointed. We clearly stated again, we live close to Centurion, where there are a multitude of repair centres within 10km of our home? 3. Next, another place in Pretoria West was appointed which is in an unsafe area for two pensioners to be near. We made enquiries and found MOKAR as recommended within 10km, we asked but were told “it’s not on our list.” 4. Eventually we receive news that Precision Repair Centre is the appointed workshop, but we can only take the car in on Wednesday, 22 October. We wait because we have no other option. 5. We arrange and take the car in the afternoon before because we are not keen on battling peak hour traffic in the morning. We think that the company, knowing what’s coming because all the photographs were provided, may have made provisions, and we will have a quick turn-around time. Yet immediately we are told that there will be additional costs – implying that the given quote will be higher. 6. By Friday 31 October, a full 8 business days later, we call and are told that the replacement parts cost more than the initial assessment that was approved and by Monday we should know if the car has been approved to be written off. 7. Monday, morning, 3 November we called Precision staff again, and they are unable to access online details because they are changing their systems. That is the excuse for not being able to provide us with a quote, already supposedly being processed for a write-off. We clearly state that we can’t afford to buy even a secondhand car, and need to start to understand what is happening by seeing these quotes, some paperwork. However someone is going to send us the quote that, it sounds like hasn’t even been done. We try to call again in the afternoon but can’t speak with anyone, leave a message but thus far there has been no return call. 8. Furthermore, the lady that we were in contact with when we reported our accident on the 1st September, assured us that we will be informed every step of the way. This has not happened, we had to make arrangements with the Repair Center ourselves and ask for details, and have not had any report from her, via email or phone call. 9. Yesterday, between those calls to the Repair Centre, an agent of Straight Through Procurement Solutions, called to inform us that the car is being written off. We again explained that we can’t afford to buy any other car at all. What a disappointment, after all these years of paying ever increasing Insurance policies, faithfully, this is the treatment we receive for our loyalty!! We have been paying YOU Standard Bank Insurance, NOT Straight Through or Precision Repairs. There is not a peep from any one of your employees, disgusting!

I took my new vehicle to Precision Repair Center in Centurion after it was hit from the rear, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The repairs took 43 days, which I understand can happen due to factors like the insurance process, assessor inspections, the need to order original parts (if your vehicle is still under warranty), backorders, and proper QA/QC. Despite this, my vehicle was completed ahead of the estimated completion date, which was early January 2025. (Tip: with repair processes often taking longer nowadays, it’s best to ensure your courtesy car hire covers at least 60 days). Throughout the process, I received regular updates via Audatex, including the repair status and photos of my vehicle. When I arrived, Santos, the owner, greeted me and took the time to explain every aspect of the repair work in detail while patiently addressing all my questions. His expertise and transparency reassured me, and it was clear that he cared about delivering the best possible result. The level of craftsmanship in the repair work was excellent. It is however unfortunate that some of the online reviews don’t reflect the outstanding service I received. Thank you Precision Repair Center team for your exceptional work!

What a ridiculous service Precision Reapir Centre is providing to the customers first of all i am having question to Momentum as why are you having contract with useless repair centre like Precision Repair Centre i think like other government sectors this firm also know how to waste time and resources of thepoor people in the community we gave our car for repair 40 days ago through momentum car insurance and we are only getting car ready today what a waste of time considering today's economy this firm doesn't value time and money of common people who lives on budget they dont consider importance of not having car even for one day as there is no proper public transportation in our country i suggest momentum to break all ties with this firm and find reliable, better and quick repair centre where things get done faster and quickly what a shame dealing with them and i did not even receive one follow up call or even one call of apology for delaying repair of our car thanks for the greatest services you offered us and i hope we will never deal with you going forward and may you lose all your contracts thanks

Vehicle was with them for three months after am accident, finaly they let us know the repair is done, all is well, got to the panelshop, parts were not lining up, Santos areanged to repair it quickly (5min) we left with the vehicle went home, next day the vehicle would not start and the passanger door window made a noise when opening, phoned them, they advised to bring the vehicle back today, had to put the battery charger on the vehicle yesterday as something is now draining tje battery, they said they fixed tbe window can't open it because they replaced the smash and grab, so will have to confirm if it has indeed been replaced? I asked if they sorted out whatever is draining the baterry, Santos pulled uo his shoulders and said it's the battery and not my problem, this is a vehicle that is two years old with 20 000km on it, never had any issue before getting it back from them, I will also be laying a formal comolaint with Outsurance. This is rediculous that we just have to accept whatever poor service and bad attitude a service provider is giving

I am appalled by the bad service received by PRECISION REPAIR CENTRE in Theuns street, Centurion. They literally have played WITH MY LIFE due to incomplete repair. They have also COST ME A LOT OF MONEY due to the length of time the repair took and the errors made which I must now fix. My claim was lodged with OUTSURANCE. I was under the illusion that Precision was a reputable repair workshop of high standard- and chose that the car be sent there. The damage was done on 18 March- Outsurance was brilliant but since it arrived at Precision on 25 March I have not been happy. NISSAN SA was shocking and I was told I had to wait for the fuel tank- from March - until JUNE 20th !! No response from NISSAN SA or precision or assistance with a courtesy vehicle that I may use. The part never arrived 20 June and no date was given . Last week I was called to say the car was ready. I collected and as I got in realized my car REEKED of CAT URINE ! when i asked inside if there are cats there , a staff memeber said- ' Yes, plenty' After this the owner spun we a lie of the car being up on the ramp for the entire 4 months with the windows closed. I now have to pay to try valet this- my aircon IS EMPTY not working . I must pay for this too.. worst of all- I have been driving since I got the car- on the Highway between JHB and Pretoria. The car kept shuddering and shaking once it got to 90kms and upward. Today Iwent to have the tyre balancing checked. The wonderful team at TYREMART took time to check all and check the rims. They could not see fault but after driving it told me ' there is something very wrong with your car '!!! The cause was found- of the 5 Nuts holding in the PROPSHAFT- there was ONLY one which was loosely fitted. Imagine the accident this could have caused me - absolutely disgusting to put their clients lives at risk.
