Prime Property Umhlange - Failure to return damage deposit

My husband and I have had the most unpleasant experience with Prime Property Umhlanga. When we had signed our lease agreement,we were allowed pets. Nine months into the lease,we were advised that the neighbours were complaining about our dogs and the yard being unkept. Without any support or inspection from the agency,we continued to go back and forth. Once the lease agreement had come to an end,an inspection was conducted and the agent advised that there was no damage just a deep clean needed to be performed. A few days later,when we inquired about the damage deposit,we were suddenly being billed for basically new renovations. Communication from the agency was unprofessional and extremely delayed. After following up again,we just received a response stating that the deposit was handed over to the landlord and we should contact the rental tribunal. We have heard bad stories about the agency in the past but we did not think that we would have fell victim to their ****.
