On a very good special we booked and paid for an all inclusive Maldives Package in June 2018. Shortly before to our departure I had emergency surgery on my abdomen and had to cancel our trip due to Doctor’s orders. Francois, owner of Priority travel was incredibly understanding snd helpful and told me that we could go in February 2019 with no extra charges but just a small fee for changing the Emirates flights. Shortly before our holiday was due, I contacted Priority to get our new booking details for flights etc. Things started changing completely. Priority told us their was a mistake and that we had to pay and extra amount (almost as much as the initial trip was. The end result was that, according to the consumer act, if a person is hospitalized, the travel agent has to refund the traveller in full. I appointed lawyers who took out a court order against Priority Travel. In the end Priority Travel agreed to pay back every cent they owe us, plus interest, plus all lawyers fees and all other costs until everything is paid, as they want to pay us off in installments of R10000 per month. I also had to delete the note I sent to HelloPeter about this matter. (Which I did) Up till this very moment I have not received any payments from Priority Travel or their lawyers, as promised. I have no idea when this matter will be finalized, but Since June 2018 I am out of pocket with almost R50000 and no holiday either. What can I do? I thought I can trust them after the lawyers had made promises.
