I contracted Bronwen Tuck the owner of Garden Mechanix to provide a landscaping quote for our garden. She provided a quote of R6500(R4000 a day for labour, R500, rubble removal and R2000 for new plant allocation). At the garden assessment meeting on 10th Oct, I mentioned that she may remove the existing plants for new ones since these could be given to my family who have just moved into a new home. When she arrived at our premises on 28 Oct 2015, she removed some existing plants, planted new ones and rearranged existing pots. She also installed 2 trellises in the garden which was not on the quote. She only managed half a day so she arranged to come through on another day.We then received an invoice of R8129 which we were asked to pay immediately. We requested that she return the plants she took and remove the trellis. She refused to give us a refund for the trellis, and was aggressive and rude. She has no customer service, my advice don't use Garden Mechanix for your landscaping, as she will lure you with initial \good prices"and nail you with an excessive final price. She definitely qualifies as the lady with green \""long\"" fingers as her plants have been recycled from other gardens."""
I purchased a Verimark steam iron a few months ago and the iron was working fine until last week. The iron body started over-heating and as a result this has rendered the iron useless. For an iron that is supposed to be a superior product, this is unacceptable.
I also purchased a vacuum cleaner from Verimark last year, however the closing mechasim is malfunctioning. The product was sent for repairs previously, however the same problem has reoccured. As a loyal Verimark customer for several years, having purchased numerous products, I have to admit my disapointment in these two products. I have purchased these products from Hypermarket in Woodmead, however with the onerous processes in place at the store, I hope my issues can be solved efficientlyby Verimark, and restore my faith in Verimark products.
I approached ZAK Bathrooms to do bathroom renovations at my premises. Zak referred me to Wayne Russell and his mother Cindy Russell, big mistake ZAK. Wayne and Cindy promised that Wayne was the best plumber and only used the best people to do the work. Their quote was high, so I assumed I would get quality work. However I should have seen the writing on the wall when Wayne could not scan a document back to me and his mother could not even do a professional quote. There computer was always down. They did competent tiling, however there tiler did not complete the work and could not be traced after that.. They charged me for underfloor heating that was not completed. They tried to charge me for plumbing that a builder was supposed pay for and numerous other issues, to numerous to mention. In fact him and Clive Du Plessis, the builder, had a close race to the \incompetency finish line". I think they were equally useless.Eventually"
The biggest mistake I ever made in my life is to meet this \builder' Clive Du Plessis more than a year ago now. The second biggest was to allow him to convince me he was actually a honest and competent builder. We signed a contract with Buildtech projects to do renovations at my property last year in March. He said it would take 6-8 weeks to complete the renovations. Six months later
This nightmare started nearly a year ago, when we decided to go to OPTIMA kitchens to do our new dream kitchen.
Daleen Spangenberg was assigned to help us as she consulted for Optima. Initially through the design process things were fine. Daleen amazingly decided to form her own company, Essential Living Space, and stupidly we decided to be her first customer, although the cupboards were made by OPTIMA. However when it came to delivery, it was one disaster after another. The disasters are too numerous to mention, however needless to say, we still don't have a kitchen we are satisfied with. She has zero eye for detail and equally pathetic project management skills. She continually made huge errors and does not follow up nor communicate to any degree. Due to the numerous incompetent errors from Daleen, we had to order food (at our own cost) for two months, with little concern from her side. So my advise, stay well clear from this supplier, even if she morphs into another company. She should not cook in, let alone design and project manage a kitchen. Search for any supplier besides Essential Living Space, if you want to keep your sanity.
