During the festive season I required a DSTV installer to resolve a fault with our system. My usually contractor was on leave so we contacted dstvcompany / cape accredited. They were prompt and their labour charges were reasonable. However when I called my regular service provider for an additional installation he told me that I was charged approximately 5 times the standard charge for the part used.

On December 21, and 22 I received the following SMS : "the payment on your NHLS acc is overdue. iIt is critical that payment is made today or call MBDCS on (011) ********** . Ref: ********** ********** 04" . On 21 December the message was sent from ********** 473 and on 22 December from ********** 064.

Since i do not even know who or what NHLS is I assumed that it was either a phishing message or the senders had the wrong cell phone number. Following the second message i sent a reply stating that they were sending the messages to the wrong number. I did not receive a reply but instead the same message for the third time (23 Dec) from ********** 964. I am posting this as I now believe that this is nothing more than an extortion racket.
