I just got a bill for R5 million. I live alone. This is quite possibly the worst company in South Africa
If you would like to get your deposit back once your lease term has ended - don't rent with these guys. They will find any excuse to skim money off the top and give you the remnants. I faithfully paid up my rental until the end of my lease term and gave the landlord and RAWSON 4 month's notice that I won't be renewing. I made sure to keep the apartment in a good state and replaced showerheads and other things that I needed to while I was a tenant. When I left I made sure to get the apartment cleaned and presentable. The new tenant arrived as I was leaving and the inspection was carried out under these circumstances. The agent noted that I had left some dust in the spot where my bed had been and that they would charge me for that. THERE WAS DUST UNDER THE BED and they wanted to charge me a whole cleaning fee for that. Also they are charging me an inspection fee. I have never heard of this type of fee nor is it in my lease agreement. They didn't send me any formal statement to show me these fees so that I can dispute them in time. At every point I had to make communication with them. You will lose money with these guys, don't bother
Fastbuy - Know what you’re getting yourself into. I sold my car on ABSAs Fastbuy platform in December and the experience has been wonky to say the least. Having the option to get rid of your car is great. Being given a discount on the shortfall is also really great. I think ABSA has put some measures in place that do help you if you’re looking to change cars or just get rid of your car. What’s sorely lacking though is communication on ABSAs side. If you utilise the platform you will be listed until you pay off your shortfall. Being listed is reasonable, as ABSA is making a loss, I guess, and you’re breaching the contract-kinda. All I ask of ABSA Fastbuy is to be more clear and communicative of this repercussion. You get a consultant assigned to you when you begin the process, this person needs to communicate this clause to customers very, very, very clearly. As a customer I’ll take my L this time, but I hope the next person is going to be more informed when they make their decision.
I sold my car through Fastbuy in December. The experience was painless until it came to sorting out the amount I would need to pay for the shortfall and the terms and conditions of Fastbuy. The consultant who was helping me resigned during the time my car was being sold and no one else was assigned to my query. I tried calling Fastbuy throughout January (they even have records supporting this) but I received no help as the consultant had resigned and the team lead was never available on the phone. They eventually cc'd her (team lead) manager then the team lead rushed to call me and sort out the issue I had. However, currently, ABSA has listed me as a defaulter, even though I have never missed a single payment. If you sell your car through Fastbuy you get listed until you pay off your debt, they treat it like a repossession. This is not something they mentioned or made me aware of, because otherwise, I wasn't going to sell my car. If you want to sell your car-don't use Fastbuy-you will get listed on the credit bureau vendors and you won't be able to get any credit. The experience has been terrible using Fastbuy, no one picks up your call, no one explains fully what you're getting yourself into
Dylan Krause was very friendly and helpful. My query was sorted
